+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Where's Derrick? Right here. Oh, what's up D? How's it going on? Hey Steve, I've been married for three and a half years to my lovely wife, Jennifer Haynes. We actually have five kids and three grandkids. Okay. Yes sir. And my wife, she was a single mom before we got married and I had lost my job like right before we had got married but she still loved me anyways, even though I was broke as a joke, she still married me. And after that, I had started working because I said, hey, I need to work, I need to provide for this family. I took care of all the kids, I adopted the kids. And after that, it just seemed like I didn't have enough time to spend with my family because I was working all the time. I'm a driver, I work for a roofing company, we have a catering company. My wife is actually a chef, so we have a catering company as well. And then I also do full-time ministry at my church. We do a lot of community work to help those. Thank you. Thank you. We do a lot to help those that were affected by Hurricane Harvey back in Houston. And so, with all that, it's like, I only spend about two hours in the day, like morning time with my wife, night time, about two hours at least with my wife. And it just seems like it's a lot I'm juggling, you know, career-wise, family-wise. So I just wanna ask you, you know, man to man, you know, what is some good advice you can give me as a young man just trying to balance family, career, and still do what God's called me to do? Well, I mean,
Speaker 2: me personally, cause I'm from a blended family, you know. I married a woman who had children. I think there ought to be a special award given out to men who step in and play the role of father. When you got these men walking around, won't take care of their kids, and then some dude come along and show up and start cutting it. So what you're doing is, you're making it happen. You weren't working there, you got yourself together, now you're overworking. But hey, man, that's a part of provision. I mean, you decided, look, this woman's kids need to be taken care of. I gotta get out here and make it happen. So that's what you're doing. You're out there making it happen, man. I mean, look, if you became a husband to a woman that needed a husband, if you became a father to some kids that needed a father, I got news for you. You're doing God's work. You're doing God's work. I mean, look, man, when you get real serious with it, and let me tell you something, real grown women, real grown men, you know, look, they still want some time, I understand that, that ain't gonna go away, and you feel bad when you don't give them time. But a real grown woman gonna understand a man that's taking care of business. All you got to do is get you one man in your life that didn't take care of business. When you find one who do, you'll appreciate him. And I bet you she'll appreciate you. You're doing good, soldier. Keep doing it. All right, where's Celine?
