XTM Workbench is a cloud-based, computer-aided translation tool integrated into the Enterprise Translation Management System, XTM Cloud. Why do translators like working in XTM Workbench? Quite simply, it's because XTM Workbench provides translators with a flexible, ergonomic workspace. The clear user interface was designed in collaboration with professional translators to deliver an outstanding user experience and enhanced productivity. Upon opening XTM Workbench, users can immediately see the file and languages they are working on. Up-to-date file metrics are displayed at the bottom of the page. Navigation between the various documents in a translation project is quick and intuitive, no matter how large the files are. XTM Workbench displays the status of each segment and makes it easy to navigate to the next incomplete one. The docked panel at the bottom of the screen includes a section displaying the available TM and MT matches and associated information. Any defined terms in the term base are highlighted in the text and the information about the term displayed in the tab. New entries can be added to the term base directly from within XTM Workbench. Inline elements are shown in the text as numbers in curly brackets and usually represent text formatting. The detail of each inline is displayed in the docked panel to help the translator insert the inline in the correct position in the target text. XTM Workbench uses AI to help the translator by automatically inserting the inlines in the target text. Translators can add comments to each segment and any changes made by a corrector are automatically stored as a comment so that a comprehensive report can be generated. Thanks to the full segment history, each action taken by a translator is stored in XTM Workbench, making it possible to restore any of the previous versions. In fact, everything translators need to work efficiently is at their fingertips and easy to use. The find and replace feature makes finding and replacing a word or phrase across all files in a project simple. Linguists can also use the segment filter function to search the segments to find any that meet specific criteria. Users can customize XTM Workbench to create their optimum working environment. They can set their own shortcuts for navigation, inserting matches, inline tags or change the font. A lot of the functionality can be accessed quickly via the contextual menu or keyboard shortcuts, maximizing translator efficiency. One of the favorite features for translators is the visual mode in XTM Workbench. This gives an in-context view to see how the translation will actually look in a published environment.
