Speaker 1: Hi, I'm Debbie Ellickson and I would like to tell you how excited I am that I finally finished my manuscript. I've told you about my new book that will be published by Self-Counsel Press, which is Publishing and Marketing in the Digital World. So I've posted a couple of videos as I went through the process of publishing and also did a few blogs just to kind of help you when you're going through your own book development. And so because I'm with Publisher now and I've submitted the manuscript, but I'll backtrack a little bit and tell you that before I completed the manuscript, I needed to send the managing editor there a sample chapter, so a couple of sample chapters, basically. So I think it was around about 38 pages in total and that included the table of contents so that they could see where the manuscript was going and also to see that we were on the same wavelength. So that was alright, so there was no red flags for them, so I was able to finish the manuscript. So now it is in the hands of their editor and I just wait to hope that the manuscript isn't completely reformatted and has to be completely redone. Hopefully it will be not too many major structural changes, but in the meantime, I can only wait and then as the editor finishes going through it, then we work together and try to create the final document. So that's where it sits right now and meanwhile, the next thing on the agenda while I'm waiting for the editor is to figure out how I, personally, am going to market this book and so I'm going to develop a business plan and a marketing plan and work and of course the stuff that I do will be in conjunction with what the staff council publicist does and then we go from there. And hopefully I will not have to make too many structural changes, but if I have to, I have to. So anyway, that's the step I'm at with the book publishing process and when you have a publisher, you have to basically wait for their editors to go through and then work with them in partnership. So the other thing that staff council press has done is they were watching one of our virtual newsmaker shows when we had Zach Dugal on from Insticator and it gave them the idea to set up a partnership with Insticator to promote some of their books and of course one of those books is going to be mine and so that's kind of cool. So they sent a press release on that last week and that's another thing that I hope I'll help add to the promotion, in fact I put the link in this YouTube video, but in any case, the important thing is to show you how the different steps come together in putting a book together, at least when you're working with a publisher. So thanks for watching. https://www.insticator.com
