Speaker 1: The Samson Q2U microphone is maybe the most versatile microphone for the money and the best value for the money of any microphone out there because it is a USB plus an XLR mic all built into one and it's a handheld mic that you can use for interviews. I mean this mic you can mount it to a stand just like this in your studio and I'll have a recommendation for you in a moment. You can actually pop it off the stand and do an interview with somebody with it through an XLR jack or it has a table stand I'll show you in just a moment that you can use just to put on top of your desk with ease of use. I mean here's the microphone itself before you buy it though watch all the way to the end of the video I'm gonna tell you the pros and the cons of this microphone. Let's talk about the features really quick. So on the top of the microphone there's an on off switch which is great for interviews or using this microphone on stage as an extra mic pretty cool. Also there's a volume knob here at the bottom of the microphone to adjust up and down the headphone volume. Yeah this microphone even has a headphone jack check this out on the bottom of the mic you look right down here you can plug in any pair of headphones on the bottom so if you're mounting it to a stand like this you can plug your headphones in the back you can actually monitor your own audio and use it as a playback device if you're doing Skype calls, Zoom calls, podcasts, you name it. By the way you're listening to it right now with processing. I'll go over in a moment without processing so you can actually hear the difference in the audio quality with and without processing. Also XLR versus USB I'll show you that in a moment. But the coolest feature of this microphone in my opinion is the fact that it has a USB output and it has an XLR output. So right here in my studio I'm running it through my Rodecaster Pro mixer already and so the Rodecaster Pro was provided to me by Rode for free two years ago also Samson gave me this mic for free a couple years ago so I need to disclose that but they aren't paying me any money to make this video I'm just making it on my own because I think a lot of people should consider this microphone as a viable option. But the beautiful thing about this mic is that you can plug it into an existing mixer or interface that you have or a stage or live setup or you can plug it into any computer and it just works plug-and-play with any device out there making it one of the most versatile mics on the market. And this package that we have right here for the price is pretty insane. You get the stand with the clip and I'm using that clip on this table bass stand. It also comes with the windscreen that helps eliminate plosives, a little extender if you want to get it up higher and you want to use it for interviews you can use that as well, and it comes with a USB and XLR cable. There's also a package that I'm going to link in the description below and you guys can choose to use those affiliate links below if you would like. There's also a package that you can use that includes a stand for it if you want to mount it to your table similar to what I'm doing here in my studio. You mount it to the table and you can move it into position and use it more effectively there. And also this package includes a pop filter if you need an extra pop filter if you're extra loud or you have lots of big P's when you speak you may need that. And it comes with an extra clip that you can use as well on the stand. Link in the description below to this bigger package with all these accessories as well as the core package for the Q2U depending on what your preference is. But at the end of the day it doesn't really matter what the features of the microphone are if it doesn't sound great. So right now you're listening to this microphone fully processed with my Streamlabs OBS processing on as well as my Rodecaster Pro processing on. So I'm going to turn all of that processing off right now and I want you to hear how it sounds without any of that processing and then I'll turn it back on in a moment. So I just turned the Streamlabs OBS processing off which was a noise suppressor, compressor and limiter. And here in the mixer I'm going to turn off the onboard processing here within the Rodecaster Pro and this is the way it sounds with no processing on through a regular XLR jack. It's just going through the preamps on this mixer. This is the Samson Q2U with no processing on. And then I'm going to turn on the Rodecaster Pro processing and this is the way it sounds with processing. So in my experimentation it sounds way better with the processing on in this mixer. But this mixer is a very expensive multi-hundred dollar mixer with processing. But the reason why I'm showing you this option, and I'm going to show you the way it sounds through USB here in just a moment, the reason why I'm showing you this option is to show you that this microphone is upgradable. In that if you outgrow the USB version of this mic, once again we're going to turn off the processing one more time so you can hear the way it sounds through an XLR jack with no processing on. If you outgrow the USB functionality of this mic or you want to upgrade your processing through a mixer or racks, you can do that and you can kind of grow up with this mic as you increase your setup in the future. Okay so this is with been with processing off and one more time I'll turn processing on so you guys can hear what the fully enhanced version of this sound is like. And that device I was using to do that is called the RODECaster Pro. There's a link in the description below to affiliate link if you think that this processing is impressive, which I do, then you can choose to purchase this mixer. I recommend it to a lot of my clients if that's something that you're interested in. I think the onboard processing, this is just the default processing, is the most impressive feature. But I want you guys to now hear the way that this mic sounds through USB. So now I'm going to switch over to the USB mode on this mic in real time right now. Let me go ahead and mute here on the mixer. And now I have USB enabled so it might not be as loud. Okay I was having a hard time getting the volume up quite as loud with the USB version of this microphone but this is it. This is the Samson Q2U through USB right now. And so this is the way it sounds if you just plug it straight into your computer. This is with processing on. So I have noise suppression, compression, and limiter on. So now I'm going to turn the processing off for the Samson Q2U. Now this is with no processing through the USB jack. This is no processing whatsoever on the Samson Q2U through the USB jack. Now I'm going to turn the onboard, the processing on in my computer of noise suppression, compressor, and limiter. And this is the way it sounds with processing on. This is the Samson Q2U. And I'm going to once again turn the processing off so you can hear the difference. And this is the way it sounds with processing off. And by the way all of this processing and all of this filtering I was just turning on and off here on my computer. This is all free in Streamlabs OBS or OBS or any other program. Noise suppression, compressors, and limiters are standard. In fact you will be able to see you know sound suppression and stuff like that in Zoom calls, Skype calls, etc. So this is the Samson Q2U. We're gonna finish this out with it in USB mode. If you're impressed by this microphone, if you like the way that it sounds, and you like the upgradability of it and the versatility of it, there's gonna be a link in the description below if you're interested in picking that up with one of my affiliate links. Happy microphone shopping. I freaking love this mic. Like you can't go wrong with this mic. It kind of is good at everything, but it's not great at anything. You know what I mean? It's the jack-of-all-trades Swiss Army Knife style microphone. Enjoy.
