Speaker 1: With a couple clicks, you can now speak a new language in your own voice,
Speaker 2: with your lips synced up, while retaining your facial expressions and hand movements. I don't speak any of those languages, but based on the reviews I've seen from native speakers,
Speaker 1: it does a great job. That opens up all sorts of opportunities for creators. Dubbing is a difficult and expensive process, and that's without the lip syncing part. So let's jump in. Heygen is the name of the platform, and it's really easy to use. The link in the description will take you to this screen, and you'll have some free credits to test it out with. Just drop the video file you want translated right in here, select the language you want to translate into, then click submit, and you're good to go. It's literally that easy. And while that's working, here's some requirements and best practices. Currently, it supports these 10 input languages, and these 14 output languages. They said that will be expanding soon, and they have already added some since this launched a couple weeks ago. Now, of course, this works best if you use good audio and good video, and it only works with one person. It can confuse it if you use multiple faces, and your video needs to be between 30 seconds and 300 seconds. If it's too short, you can just add some filler in at the end, and if it's longer than five minutes, you'll have to break it up into smaller parts. A couple other tips are if you do a super close up shot, like where your face fills the whole frame, you'll be able to see where the mask is interacting a little bit. If you do a standard shot like the one I used, it's almost unnoticeable. Unless you have a big beard, like this example that Linus Eckenstone posted. That has some weirdness to it, but it worked great with my beard. Also bringing your hands in front of or close to your mouth can cause issues too. There's a lot of people trying to use this, so it's been taking a long time for just free testing. Upgrading to the paid plan will skip the queue, then it just takes a couple minutes. Here's the pricing. It's a 20% discount to pay yearly, but we'll look at the monthly tab. You're essentially paying for time as well as priority processing. You can just adjust your plan based on how much you think you'll use. It is on the expensive side, especially if you want to use it a lot, but the free and open source models out there like Wave2Lip are really difficult to get looking this good. This is the worst it will ever be. I'm sure the technology will get cheaper and more accessible in the future, including the ability to do this in real time. For this pricing, one credit equals one minute of translation, or one minute of any of their other features. I've been focusing on the translation feature here, but this is part of a much larger platform. They have a bunch of pre-made avatars you can use where you just type your script and choose a voice. You can even generate new outfits for them. Then there's a bunch of backgrounds and video templates you can place them on. Another new feature they added is you can create a full high-quality avatar of yourself with just two minutes of footage.
Speaker 3: Hey, welcome to HeyJen. This is Josh, HeyJen's CEO. This is my instant avatar. Your instant avatar can totally be the same quality or even better.
Speaker 1: What I've personally used it for the most is making images talk. I've used it to animate faces in a bunch of my videos. The link in the description will take you straight to the translation page, but if you're exploring the platform and need to get back, it's under labs down here. And I've been using HeyJen for over six months now, and I have mentioned them on the channel a couple times. I thought this translation feature was amazing and worth making a full video for. And with the paid plan, you can have it generating in every language at the same time. You don't have to wait for one to finish. Looks like this first one is ready.
