[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Are you ready? Three, two, one. Day four of trying to break the Shure SM58. If you didn't already know, the Shure SM58 is known to be one of the most indestructible microphones out there. So in this series, we're putting it through a series of tests to see how long it lasts until it finally breaks. Today, we've come out to the muddy baseball diamonds. We're gonna see how quick we can hit a long bomb home run. Except this time, the SM58 is our baseball. Are you ready? Three, two, one. One. It wasn't a home run, but I'll take it. Oh, shoot, dude, that grill. It's like melted ice cream. But everything else looks okay. Like we're smudged up on the body. There's definitely a bit of a dent here. I'm trying to figure out where I hit it from because there's a smudge here from telling me, okay, that's where it got hit. But also the grill is like completely curved over this way. I'm nervous to open this because it may have like warped the threading. That might be exactly what's happening here. So I'm actually not gonna check the body because I'm worried to snap those wires. Let's see if we can get the grill. Nope. Let's just test it and see how it sounds. Ain't nothing like a good ice cream cone on a hot summer day. So I'll show you real quick. We kind of did more damage to the bat than we actually did the microphone. There's a massive dent right alongside that entire bat. So RIP bat, but this microphone hopefully is still functioning just dandy. Moment of truth. Let's find out. And it's still working, ladies and gentlemen. We have active waveforms on the recorder and this microphone sounds just as good as it always does. So even hitting it with a baseball bat, trying to hit a home run at the baseball park, it is still working and just fine, which is not okay with me. So we need you guys' help. Let us know in the comments what we should do next and we'll see you on day five.

Arow Summary
