Speaker 1: Hi there, this is Fei from Faceroad Media. As I mentioned, you know, recently Descript just acquired Squadcast. I think it's going to be such a powerful couple. And here in this short video, I want to show you what Squadcast looks like. As you can see right here, I'm using the free version of Descript. I can upgrade it at any time, but even with a free version, you get to test out Squadcast, which is remote video recording, high quality 4K for up to one hour. So to get started, this is your dashboard. All you have to do is click on new and go to the third option, remote recording. Here you can see that Squadcast is now part of Descript and connect to and record with up to nine other people at no additional cost. Don't show me this again. And now I'm bounced off to the Squadcast login. Here I have to authenticate. If you don't already have a Squadcast account, for now, you need to create this until Descript moves on to phase two, which means the two apps are now connected together. As you can see, now you're getting remote recording for free and you can click on redeem the offer. You can also here select, you know, how you want to organize your recording. So let me go ahead and do that. Claiming your drive, which is phase drive. Here I am looking at this for the first time. From here, it's pretty straightforward, especially if you have used Podcastle or Riverside before. It's pretty much the same. You can start a new session now where you can schedule a session for the future. And here I need to give permissions to allow access to my microphone. Check out this is the green room. Make sure everything is tested and okay. Headphones can improve quality if you want to wear one. You can skip the tour at any time. Here you're making sure you're using the right microphone and your camera. And next, almost done and ready to go. All right, now you're dropped inside the Squatcast recording studio. To me, this is really quite similar to Podcastle and Riverside. So if you have experience with one or both, that experience is definitely going to help you adapt Squatcast quite easily. But let's take a look at this user interface. What I like about this is how big this video is. And also when other people join, you're going to have split screen and all that should be pretty straightforward. And here on stage, we have Fei Wu, the organizer. That's me. And then we have some cute icons here. It quickly identifies the browser I'm using, the operating system, and echo cancellation is currently on. You can see all the details. And you can also edit them if needed. Now invite into backstage. So what it means is that viewers can watch and listen to the session, but only communicate through chat. However, managers or producers, in this case, myself, can move viewers to the main stage at any time and be included in the recording. I think that's really phenomenal. I know that actually Riverside has a similar feature. Podcast currently does not. And what it does is actually allows you to kind of have a more curated and controlled Zoom experience, so to speak. I really like about that. Obviously, if you are a show host, you want to make sure you do recognize the person. Other than that, you know, everything else is pretty trivial. And what I want to do is quickly record a session. All right. So recording is currently on. Hi there. This is Faye from Faye's World Media. I'm currently recording a very quick tutorial for SquadCast. Whenever I'm done, by the way, all I have to do is just stop recording. You see, as I've just stopped doing that, it says, take one. And cloud recording is being uploaded. The technology here is called progressive upload. So it doesn't just start uploading when you're done. It progressively uploads the bits and pieces as you're recording. So it's much safer in terms of quality. So now at any time I can click on, you know, edit in Descript, it immediately pops me back into Descript. And this is really the power, right? You can see the location. I'm just going to create a quick project and it says, oh, continue to the web experience. And this is the 17 or 30 seconds I just recorded. Right now it says untitled project from SquadCast. I can just rename it if I want to. And from here, I have all the options, you know, including studio sound, which I love, and also opacity, layout, if I choose to. You definitely have some simple audio and video effects if you choose to play with them. And let's see, the quality is probably pretty high. And as you know, if you are already, and many of you are already using Descript, you can definitely use the similar features to be able to edit your audio file, in this case, your video file directly by editing the transcript, which we all love. So that's it. It's pretty straightforward. Once again, you know, I have my little chat window here. Just remember that you can bring your guests and people on stage, or you can engage with them via chat if you choose to. One thing I did forget to mention is once I ended the recording, I want to have an easy way to be able to access the recording and show you guys the quality of it. So let's go back to my studio inside SquadCast. All right, so this is my dashboard. I can favorite the different sessions, and here's my recent primary recording. What I want to quickly show you guys is all the options for download because this is absolutely essential for content creators as well as editors. As you can see, download all MP4s. You can download all the WAV files as well as the MP3 files. So if I want to go ahead and just download the MP4, which is the video I'm thinking about, I get this little zip folder, which then pops open. So it was 30 seconds. All right, so recording is currently on. Hi there, this is Faye from Faye. All right, I'm pretty happy with this because one thing is I noticed the syncing between video audio is really on point, which means my lips are syncing to the actual audio. I know that's like a trivial task, but a lot of these recording software, they don't always do a good job. Very risky business here. And also down here, let's see what else we got. It does show you, by the way, the quality that you're using even while you're in the studio itself. So for instance, whether recording in 720p or HD or 4K, it's going to show you inside the studio. You're not going to get anything different from what you selected. In addition, once you expand this little carrot here, you're able to listen to your content as well as just watching it. I really like the preview as opposed to having to download it. But once again, from the three dots here, you can again choose edit in Zscript, share, you can copy link, you can retry rendering. Okay, that's interesting that I have not had to use before. All right, let me close a few things out. So at this point, you may be wondering, wow, it's so powerful. Zscript, it's already so popular. Now here comes Squadcast. It's going to give Zscript unparalleled advantage when it comes to remote, high quality up to, you know, HD 4K recording quality. What else is missing here? Well, the only thing I can think of is really live streaming. Now, Riverside has already released a live streaming feature within the studio, which means you can connect your YouTube, social media, and be able to broadcast directly while you're recording. That's super powerful. Now, that is currently not available through Squadcast by Zscript. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's going to be a feature that we'll consider later on. For now, you're unable to live stream directly from the recording studio. If you want to learn more on how to do that, definitely check out our guides on how to use Restream, OneStream, as well as Streamlabs Talk Studio. So we have extensive tutorials on that. I've included links in the description below. For those of you live streamers. With that said, let me know how you like this tool. If you like this video, be sure to watch the next one. I think it's really exciting. Let's continue the conversation.
