[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Metamuse is a new free AI assistant that doesn't just answer questions. It can actually take action for you. It can browse the web, work across your apps, research things, make plans, and handle multi-step tasks on your behalf. In this video, I'll show you how to use Metamuse from start to finish. We'll get everything set up, connect your apps, and put it to some work on some real-world tasks so you can actually see what it can do. I'm Kevin, and let's dive in. To get started, head to muse.ai. You'll find a link right here at the bottom of the screen. From here, enter your phone number or email address, and then go ahead and set up your account. You can also install Muse on your phone, either through the Play Store or the App Store. And Muse pretty much works the same whether you're on your phone or on your computer. You can switch between the two and pick up your conversations wherever you happen to be. Once you sign in for the first time, Muse starts by getting to know you. Right here, we can see that it already knows my name, and right down below, I can choose what I want to call my assistant. I'm going to stick with Muse. And with that, we're ready to go. Let's give Muse its first task. Let's start with something pretty practical. I want to take my family out for dinner this Friday. Normally, I'd have to search for restaurants, look through menus, read reviews, and then check to see who actually has a table available. Instead, let's see if Muse can handle all of that for me. Right down below, we could type in a message, or right over here, we could simply speak. Let's do that. Find a restaurant in Seattle for family dinner this Friday at 6 30 p.m. for two adults and two kids. We like Italian food and somewhere that's family-friendly. Check the reviews, menus, reservation availability, compare a few good options, and recommend the best one. Also, please don't book anything yet. All of that looks good, so right over here, let's send that off. And just like that, Muse went out on the web and did all this research for me, and it looks like it found three different restaurants that match what I was looking for. It checked their menus and reviews, and it even checked the reservation availability for the exact time that I specified. Now, right up here, it looks like it's recommending Tuttabella, and it also explains why. It's kid-friendly, which is a plus, and if I look here, they have wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. I do like that, and most importantly, it looks like they have some availability at 6 30 p.m. Now, notice that Muse didn't actually book anything because I specifically told it not to. Now, I think Tuttabella is a good option, so let's take this one step further. Right down below, let's click on dictate, and go ahead and book Tuttabella for 6 30 p.m. All right, let's send that off. To finish booking, I need to provide some additional information. I'll go ahead and do that, and there we go. We're all set, and down below, it even offers to send a reminder 30 minutes before. Let's go ahead and do that. That's very helpful, and right there, I also now have a reminder. So, Muse can already get quite a bit done just directly on the web, but it gets even more useful when we connect it to the apps and all the services that we already use. In the bottom left-hand corner, let's click on the menu, and then click into settings, and over here on the left-hand side, you'll notice something called connectors. Let's click on that, and here you can see all the different apps that Muse can connect to. Right up on top, you have things like Gmail, we have Messenger, Google Calendar. Here, you can even connect your financial institution, and you have a lot more options. Now, let's start by connecting Gmail. I'll click right here. Down below, let's click on connect, and right up on top, I'll also connect Google Calendar. Now, let's head back to the main chat. Right up on top, I'll close out of this window. I remember my friend Elizabeth wanted to catch up and go for a walk. Now, instead of finding her email and checking my calendar myself, let's see if Muse can maybe just handle this for me. So, right down below, let's dictate a prompt again. Find the recent email from Elizabeth about catching up. Check my calendar for availability, and draft a reply with, let's say, maybe three times. That would work for a walk. Don't send anything yet. That looks good. Let's submit that, and there we go. It looks like Muse found Elizabeth's email, and here it even checked my calendar, and came back with three different times that work. It looks like it also drafted the reply for me, but it didn't send it yet, so that way, I have a chance to review it first. Now, I think all this looks good, so right over here, go ahead and send it. That's it. Right up above, I can review the email before sending. Again, I think all this looks good, so let's go ahead and allow. There, Muse handled all of that entire back and forth across Gmail and my calendar for me. So far, we've been giving Muse tasks that it can complete right away, but you can also have Muse keep an eye on something just over time. As an example, during wildfire season, air quality can change pretty quickly here in Seattle. Instead of checking it myself throughout the day, I can just have Muse monitor it for me. Right down below, let's say, check Seattle air quality every morning, and let me know if wildfire smoke is expected to push the AQI above 100. Over here, let's submit that. Just like that, Muse created a scheduled task. It'll check the air quality every morning, and I only need to hear from it if the AQI is expected to go above 100. Right over here, I can view the scheduled task, and here I can manage it or delete it if I no longer need this. Another thing that makes Muse interesting is that it can learn about you over time. Instead of having to explain the same preferences every time you start a new conversation, Muse can remember all of those details and use it to personalize what it does for you. As an example, right down here, let's tell Muse to remember that when I'm looking for restaurants for my family, I really prefer casual places that are kid-friendly, and I also do like some healthy options for me. So over here, let's send that. And here, Muse now knows that preference, so the next time I need to find a restaurant, I shouldn't have to repeat all those details again. So far, we've had Muse go out and do things for us, but we can also bring our own content into the conversation. For example, here, I'll upload a PDF of Tutabella's menu. And remember, earlier I told Muse that I prefer healthier options when I'm eating out. Let's see if it remembers that. So over here, I'll ask it to recommend three different options from this menu and also explain why. Let's send that. And there we go. Muse used the menu along with it already knows about me to recommend what I should order. And notice, I didn't mention anything about healthy options in my prompt. Muse remembered that from earlier and factored it into the recommendations. Now, we've looked at a few examples of how you could use Muse, but if you're not quite sure what it can do for you, there's a really useful section called Ideas. Over on the left-hand side, click on this icon for Ideas. And here, Muse gives you examples of different things you can hand off to it. And it's all organized by different categories. Like here, we have Productivity, Financial Management, Shopping, and the list goes on and on. And some of these go quite a bit beyond just simple questions. For example, Muse can help you find subscriptions you forgot about, track price drops, help with returns, or even build a workout plan around the equipment you already have. Now, I think this is a great place to browse when you're first getting started and maybe just looking for ideas for what Muse can take off your plate. Now, you can get started with Muse for free, but there are limits on how much you could use it. Over on the left-hand side, if you click into Settings, you can see your current usage and the different plans available that give you more usage. Now, for most people, I'd recommend starting with the free plan to see how far that gets you before you actually consider upgrading. And that's how to get started with Metamuse. One last thing to keep in mind, Muse can access all of your connected apps and also take actions on your behalf. So you need to make sure that you're comfortable with the permissions that you give it. Now, of course, you can always review or disconnect different apps from Settings. All right, thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video.

ai AI Insights
Arow Summary
