[00:00:03] Speaker 1: I'm from the community team, and I'm joined by someone who literally breeds integrations at Fireflies. Chan is here with us. He's the integration product manager at Fireflies, and he's the reason your workflows don't break. So before we jump into the webinar, let's just talk about what we're going to go through. The agenda is simple. I'll quickly introduce Fireflies here. We'll deep dive into the Fireflies and Slack integration. There's a live walkthrough or demo by Chan. And we'll end with some FAQs that we've collected over the last few weeks. Now, before we jump in, I want to quickly tell you what Fireflies is in case you're new here. So Fireflies is literally like your AI teammate for meetings trusted by 20 million users at 500,000 organizations. And sure, Fireflys records, transcribes, and summarize your meetings, but it's way more than a passive note taker. So it helps automate your entire workflows with over 200 AI apps that we have. You can literally talk to Fireflys on your live meetings. And today we're going to be focusing on Slack, which is one of the over 70 integrations that we have today. So over to Chan to take us through what integrations we have and deep dive into Slack integration.
[00:01:27] Speaker 2: Absolutely. Thanks, Karishma. And hello to everybody here. Like Karishma said, integrations are a major part of our Fireflies users' workflow. And integrations are something that we value here at Fireflies to a great extent. And that is one of the main reasons why we have ultra-rich integrations that across different categories, such as note-taking, project management, task management, and CRMs. And we are proud to say that we have the most number of integrations among our competitors. And today, we are going to deep dive into one of the most commonly used and our most loved integrations, Slack. So Fireflies, like Karishma said, has transformed from being a silent participant in a meeting to an AI teammate, and that resonates to integrations as well. So Fireflies is not just about sending notes to Slack, it's more than that. And I'm gonna give you a quick snapshot what you can expect in this demo. First, let's start with how to connect with Slack. The integration is super simple. You can get Slack connected with Fireflies in less than a minute. The moment you get connected, your nodes start to flow in. Automatically, your nodes start being sent to Slack from Fireflies right after the meeting ends. At the same time, if you want more control, you can also send it manually. We can take a look at both the manual on the automatic flows and the other part is you can talk to your nodes in you can talk to fireflies from slack using oh shit i messed up there so we can edit this part right if that's fine okay the other part is you can talk to your nodes in fireflies so the other part is you can talk to your nodes ah why can't i like why do i keep how do you talk to your nodes with fred okay So the other exciting part about our nodes in Slack is that you can talk to Fred right from Slack itself. So that's an exciting thing that we've just launched recently and something that I will walk you through. And here's another exciting thing about the next point. So I have a quick question for Karishma here. So Karishma, let's say you have an ad hoc meeting and if you want to invite your coworker or a colleague, probably even me, how do you usually do it?
[00:03:38] Speaker 1: I'll probably send the meeting link on Slack and ask them to join.
[00:03:43] Speaker 2: Exactly. That's exactly how you're going to invite Fireflies to ad hoc meetings from Slack. I'm going to show you how in just a while. Stay tuned. The other thing that we're going to discuss is how to send AI outputs to Slack. We will take a look at how to create an AI app, how to configure it to be sent to Slack based on rules. In the end, we'll go through a set of FAQs and I'll be answering all your questions. That being said, let's hop on to the live demo right away. Sharing my screen. Let me know if you're able to see my screen, Karishma.
[00:04:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all perfect. Excited to see how the magic works here.
[00:04:27] Speaker 2: Absolutely. So I need to cut that part as well. Sorry, Karishma.
[00:04:33] Speaker 1: No, that's fine. I think if you do that, we'll figure it out later what to cut. Just continue. Maybe we don't even need to cut those little parts. That's OK. We can do it.
[00:04:44] Speaker 2: OK, gotcha. And yes, so here I am in Fireflies. Let me show you how to quickly connect to Slack. So once you're on the integrations page, just navigate to the search bar and search for Slack. And once you're in Slack, just click Connect, where you would be redirected back to Slack to provide Fireflies with the necessary permissions and authorizations. And just wait for it to load all the channels. So here, let me select a channel here. And then I just need to click Allow. And once the authorization is complete, you'll be redirected back to Fireflies to configure additional settings on how do you want to send your nodes to Slack. So here in the channels, you can select the channel that you want Fireflies to send the nodes to. It's automatically prefilled based on the channel that you selected in the previous step. And that's pretty much it. You can choose send a sample data or test the push flow, but that's just optional to test the connection. I'm confident here. So I'm just going to click save settings and that's pretty much it. So now I am connected to Slack as you can see from this green check mark here. So now how do I get my nodes to Slack? So right after your meeting ends, after every single meeting, Fireflies will automatically send nodes to the specified Slack channel of your choice during the configuration. But there are certain use cases where some of our customers would like a human in the loop where they manually want to send notes to a Slack channel of their choice. We do have solutions for both. So the automatic use case happens automatically, but if you want to send notes manually, just go inside the meeting and you can see a Slack icon here. Just click that. And once, why is this showing integrate? Too bad.
[00:06:32] Speaker 1: One minute.
[00:06:51] Speaker 2: Okay. So once you're in the meeting, you can see the small slack icon at the top right corner. So click that and you can see send notes and configure. So configure is to create a slack integration if you have not done it. But once I've done it, it just need, I just need to click send notes. So I click send notes here and here I can choose which channel that I want to send the notes to. So it takes a minute, sorry, it takes a second to load the channels and here I just need to select the channel. Karishma, can we do this from the start if that's fine? From the live demo, that's fine. Karishma, are you there?
[00:07:35] Speaker 1: Yeah I was on mute. Yeah, we can do it.
[00:07:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry.
[00:07:39] Speaker 1: That's okay.
[00:07:41] Speaker 2: I need to check why this was not connected when I already did it. One minute. Am I making your lives harder by making you edit or is it easy or we can even do it?
[00:07:56] Speaker 1: No, no, no. No, so basically the edits in between would be harder, so we can start with a live demo from the beginning. When was the first edit, do you remember?
[00:08:12] Speaker 2: When was the first edit?
[00:08:15] Speaker 1: After the demo?
[00:08:17] Speaker 2: No, no, no. There was one before.
[00:08:23] Speaker 1: Yeah, when you were taking...
[00:08:26] Speaker 2: You know what, just help me. I have editing tools. Just give me the data. I mean, you know, the video after. You get it from Deemio and I'll edit it for you.
[00:08:35] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll do it. That's fine. I can also do it on loom. I'll just upload it and do it.
[00:08:40] Speaker 2: I have professional tools. I have professional tools. That's the reason. You know, I can always make it better. Yeah. No worries.
[00:08:45] Speaker 1: I'll download and send it to you.
[00:08:47] Speaker 2: Got it. Got it. So let me resume the live demo. So here I am at Fireflies. And so here I am at Fireflies. So you can see that my meeting is here. To get connected with Slack, navigate to integrations, search for Slack. And once you're in Slack, just click connect. will be redirected back to Slack to provide Fireflies with the necessary permissions and authorization. So here, just select the channel that you want Fireflies to send the nodes to. Click Allow. And once the authorization is complete, you'll be redirected back to Fireflies to configure additional settings for your Slack integration to work. So select the channel here. Oh my god, the Slack integration is so choppy, Karishma. screenshot of all of this.
[00:09:36] Speaker 1: Also just quick question, this is the old flow right?
[00:09:39] Speaker 2: Yes this is the old flow because users just have that active at the moment.
[00:09:44] Speaker 1: But that's fine we can take this live when the actual flow is completed.
[00:09:50] Speaker 2: Okay.
[00:09:51] Speaker 1: I mean or is live because makes no sense right like having an old flow with on a webinar that we're shooting today we have the new flow ready.
[00:10:03] Speaker 2: Absolutely, then we'll yes, yes, then we'll use a new flow itself.
[00:10:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, and we're also getting stuck a little bit for me.
[00:10:12] Speaker 2: Is that so?
[00:10:13] Speaker 1: Yeah, especially when you're sharing your screen.
[00:10:22] Speaker 2: Is it fine now?
[00:10:25] Speaker 1: It is. I mean, it's okay, but you're It's not as smooth.
[00:10:33] Speaker 2: OK, give me one sec.
[00:10:34] Speaker 1: That's OK. Take your time. We'll cut this off.
[00:10:44] Speaker 2: The redesign is actually in testing. That's the reason I am thinking twice. OK, never mind. Let's try it out. Oh my god, this is so buggy. Yeah, we should be good.
[00:11:28] Speaker 1: Okay.
[00:11:31] Speaker 2: Is it fine now? Do you see me cracking or?
[00:11:34] Speaker 1: I think it's better.
[00:11:36] Speaker 2: Okay, got it. Yeah. Okay, perfect. Yeah, so here I am in Fireflies. Let me just quickly show you how you can integrate Fireflies with Slack. Navigate to integrations, search for Slack, and once you're in Slack integrations page, Just click Connect, and you'll be redirected back to Slack to provide Fireflies with the necessary permissions so that it can send notes. So I'll just select the channel here, which is demo channel. I click Allow. And once done, I'll be redirected back to Fireflies to configure additional settings so everything works perfectly fine. So I'm back in Fireflies. And just give it a sec. And as you can see, I've connected with slack. So here I can select the channel. It's failed. One sec.
[00:12:43] Speaker 1: Kashma.
[00:12:45] Speaker 2: Um, you know, I mean, like, we'll need more time on this. Looks like it's failing. If you want, we can continue with the old flow.
[00:12:58] Speaker 1: I think I have an idea.
[00:13:01] Speaker 2: Okay.
[00:13:02] Speaker 1: Since we're anyway, we can do the demo part when it's ready. When do you think that can be ready?
[00:13:10] Speaker 2: See, because it's testing at the moment. This is a known issue.
[00:13:22] Speaker 1: Got it. So what I'm thinking is, since we're here, we can at least probably do the FAQs so that the next time we just do the flow.
[00:13:32] Speaker 2: Exactly. So what I can do is we'll do the FAQs. And then, you know, what I'll do is I'll record the, you know, the sharing screen and I'll just give it to you so we can merge all of it together and upload it as a single video. You got it, right?
[00:13:47] Speaker 1: So do it on Demeo then.
[00:13:50] Speaker 2: No, what I'm trying to say is the live demo, I can just do the live demo, record it, and then patch all three videos. See, first half we've done, the second half also, the last half also we'll do. The middle part, I can do it myself in clean record or, you know, somewhere where it doesn't look awkward and like, you know, fits with the flow. And then just, you know, attach all three, edit and then upload the entire video in Demeo. Sounds good.
[00:14:13] Speaker 1: No, no, it definitely sounds good.
[00:14:16] Speaker 2: only thing is when you're presenting like this backdrop etc it does it shouldn't look like you are playing a video within that you know what i mean oh yeah got it okay then i'll do it in demo so just i mean like i'll let you know once everything is fixed um then um you know i can just join in and i'll just do the live demo and we can just make it done no issues but at the same time i'll i'll uh you know once we have this video just send this video over to me so i'll have the edits ready and we can just you know plug and play once we are done.
[00:14:44] Speaker 1: Cool. Sounds good.
[00:14:48] Speaker 2: Yep. Let's move on to the FAQs then. Oh, bad luck.
[00:14:52] Speaker 1: That's fine. I think this is one thing that we've spoken about that it needs to be done. So I understand the frustration. That's okay. Let's go.
[00:15:02] Speaker 2: Thanks. Thanks. Very sorry about this.
[00:15:04] Speaker 1: Are you crazy?
[00:15:06] Speaker 2: I think I just caught you out of nowhere to do this webinar and were kind enough to also say yes and then agree to a different time as well so that's okay no it's fine uh i mean like you know i was about to mean like we could have nailed this in one flow but you know it was pretty choppy but yeah maybe this is our first time for both of us so we'll figure it out yeah yeah for sure at least um rudy knows uh what to do or maybe wait for the flow to get fine god so i'll act like the demo is done and i'll just say um over to karishma and i'll say that's pretty much it and I'll just say over to Karishma and you can just move on to the next slides okay yeah and that's pretty much it so over to you Karishma.
[00:15:50] Speaker 1: Thanks Chan for the deep dive I think we're able to now in which okay why I was that okay do it again okay ready yes okay Yes, and that's pretty much it over to you, Karishma. Thanks, Jan, for the live demo. I'm sure a lot of questions are already answered, but we will now start with the FAQs. Over the last few weeks and months, we've been collecting some of the most asked questions that our users have, and we're going to be discussing some of the top ones right now. Are you ready?
[00:16:29] Speaker 2: Absolutely. Let's go.
[00:16:32] Speaker 1: The first one is, are these integrations free to use?
[00:16:36] Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely. Users from all of our plans, starting from the free plan, can use our integrations. Every single integration is free to use in Fireflies.
[00:16:45] Speaker 1: Awesome. Actually, a lot of people ask this, but can multiple people ask thread questions in the same Slack thread?
[00:16:54] Speaker 2: Yes. Like we demoed, more than one person can ask questions, as long as they have access to the meeting. If they don't have access to the meeting, Fred will not respond. It'll just say, you don't have access to the meeting, and the admin will have to provide access to the specific person. Once the access is provided in Fireflies, they'll be able to ask questions to Fred in Slack. Just like how privacy works in Fireflies, it's reflected in Slack as well.
[00:17:25] Speaker 1: Awesome. Okay, next one. What happens if someone asks Fred a question, but doesn't have access. I think we already answered that, so we'll move on to the next one. Can I send notes to a private Slack channel?
[00:17:38] Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely. Just ensure that you have Fireplace installed as an app within the channel itself from Slack. So once you have that, you should be sorted.
[00:17:47] Speaker 1: Got it. And can I choose which meetings not to push on Slack? I think we covered that, but yeah.
[00:17:54] Speaker 2: Yes, so this is a common question that we get from most of our users. So at Fireflies, our design philosophy stands in allowing users to take minimal actions and we just keep sending notes right after the meeting ends to Slack. But at the same time, there are users who request more control over the notes that get sent to Slack that can be one-on-one meetings, sensitive meetings, and stuff like that. And for those, that's the reason why we brought in the pushing notes manually to Slack. But at the same time, There is a level of automation involved as well, right? And for them, we have something exciting coming up, which is the rules engine. You can choose to select which sort of meetings that you want to push to Slack automatically. So we have the automatic flow where all the meetings get sent to Slack. We have a flow where you can manually send notes to Slack, and we'll also have an automation where you can choose from aspects such as the meeting title, meeting participants, meeting hosts, and meeting type. For example, if the meeting title contains so-and-so, send this to a different Slack channel. If the meeting participant is so-and-so, send this to a different Slack channel. You can create multiple rules over that, and that is something that you can expect in Q3 25. It's coming soon.
[00:19:06] Speaker 1: Awesome, that gives a lot more control and ability to customize the flow. Okay, so next one is, how do I disconnect or change my Slack workplace? Basic question, but yeah, asked by many.
[00:19:20] Speaker 2: Got it, absolutely. So disconnecting your Slack account from Fireplace is very easy, similar to connecting to Slack. So just navigate to the Slack integration page and then you can see a disconnect option. If you're connected, just click disconnect and you're pretty much done. It's just a one click disconnect.
[00:19:36] Speaker 1: Got it. Okay, this is one question that's asked across the board. So do you want to take this? Is my meeting data safe?
[00:19:47] Speaker 2: Absolutely. So data privacy and security is of paramount priority here at Fireflys. So we do not train on customer data. We have a zero retention policy, zero day retention policy with our vendors. We are SOC type 2, SOC 2 type 2, GDPR certified and HIPAA compliant. Meeting security, the data is absolutely safe and Fireflys is super secure, so you have no worries there.
[00:20:17] Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. I'll also be dropping some resources that you can look into in in detail so that you're rest assured about your meeting data safety. Okay, what tools can I connect besides Slack? Slack, I know you mentioned it briefly in the beginning, but can you drop some most loved tools that people use?
[00:20:40] Speaker 2: Absolutely. So to give you a quick context, we have around like 70 plus integrations ranging across both in-house, which we build and partner build integrations. and some of the most used integrations range across CRMs, note-taking, then we have project management, task management, and a lot of other categories as well. But at the same time, we integrate with some of the most used tools such as Notion, Google Docs. We connect with a wide range of Microsoft suite of apps, Microsoft Teams, Dynamics 365 CRM, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote, whatsoever it may be, And tons of other tools, HubSpot, Salesforce, are some of the most used integrations. So any integration that is popular is something that we already support. You can take a look at our portfolio by just searching for the integrations tab within Fireflies, or just searching the web for Fireflies integrations, where you can view all the integration that we support in our website. But most likely, let's say if you have a tool in mind, there's a very high chance that we're already supporting it.
[00:21:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. Thanks, Chan. And with this, we conclude today's webinar. Now, there were a bunch of questions that we answered, but if you have more, feel free to drop in here. We will look at it every other day and answer them. And with this, I'm pretty sure that now you know how Fireflies actually acts like your teammate inside Slack, where you spend most of your time during your work hours. Thank you. This was fun, Chan. Thanks for being here. And yeah, we'll see you at the next one.
[00:22:24] Speaker 2: Absolutely. Thank you so much, Karishma. Bye.
[00:22:27] Speaker 1: Bye-bye.
