Speaker 1: Hi guys, I hope you're all keeping well. I'm Lauren and in today's video, I'm going to show you how to add subtitles using Canva. So let's get straight into it. All right, to get started, you're going to want to go to canva.com and now on the home page, you'll see a box saying, what will you design? So we want to click the video here that's in the middle. And here we've lots of different options for formats of all social media platforms. So you just choose whichever one you like, whatever works for you. I'm going to go for the first option. Now in the left hand column, we need to click uploads and then upload media. Just select the file that you want to add subtitles to and give it a minute to upload.

Speaker 2: All right guys, what is happening? Welcome to or back to my channel.

Speaker 1: Now to add subtitles, we're going to click text in the left hand column and click add a heading, double click on it and type in the first subtitle. We can change the position, the size, the font, the color, and we can even add effects. So to do this, click effects and just have a play around with all the different effects you see here. Just choose the one that you like. Perfect. So now we're happy with how our text looks. We're going to drag our play head back to the start, press space bar to play and space bar again to pause after the first sentence.

Speaker 2: All right guys, what is happening?

Speaker 1: Now right click the mouse and you'll see an option to split page. So click that and your video is now separated into two different clips. We're going to repeat this step the whole way through the video. So our play head is now at the beginning of the next clip. So we're going to play it.

Speaker 2: Welcome to or back to my channel.

Speaker 1: Hit pause after the sentence. And then we're going to right click our mouse, hit split page. And now we need to edit the text. So double click on it. Type in the correct sentence. Just keep repeating this step the whole way through the video. I'm just going to fast forward this bit so I don't bore you. All right. Now we can see our video has subtitles. We need to download it. So to do that, click share in the top right hand corner, scroll down to download. And it's already preempted that our video is mp4. So that's great. Don't need to change that. And all pages slash clips have been selected. Again, perfect. Don't change it. So all we need to do is click download and that's it. That is how you add subtitles within Canva. Now I'm going to be honest with you, manually splitting clips and typing out every word and sentence is time consuming and complicated. So I have a much faster, easier, quicker version for you called Veed. And in here you can auto caption your video. So no need to type out anything and no need to split clips. So to get started, click the first link in the description. All right. Now we're in here. We need to upload a video. So click create new project, upload media, select your video file. And now in the left hand column, click subtitles. Choose auto subtitle, choose your language and click create subtitles. It'll take a minute or two here just for it to generate our captions. And now it's finished. We can see the subtitles are above our video in the timeline. So you'll just have to play it through just to make sure there's no errors where it might have misinterpreted any of the words that we've said. And if that has happened, it's a very simple fix. So all you got to do is click on the word that's wrong, delete it and type in the correct word. Simple. All right. Now that's done. We can add our own style to the subtitles. So click the styles tab and here you can choose your font, your color, your size, your spacing. And if you scroll down, we've even got some cool effects, too. So once you're happy with your choices, it's time to render and export. So click export in the top right hand corner, choose your render settings and click export once more. It'll take a minute here to render. And now that it's finished, we want to watch it through just once just to make sure we're happy with it. All right, guys, what is happening? Welcome to or back to my channel. In this video, we are visiting the Van Gogh live exhibit in Kensington Gardens in London. Let's go. And once that's done, we can hit download and download MP4. There you have it. That is how you manually add subtitles using Canva or you can auto generate captions using Veed. I really hope you found this video helpful, guys. If you did, go on and give us a like, subscribe for more editing content and leave me any comments or questions down below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
