Speaker 1: LexisNexis. This video is just is going to show you very quickly how to blue book your citations and also how to pinpoint a citation with the blue book. So the first thing you want to do is pull up a case. So I pulled up this case 326 U.S. 310. I hit search international shoe. I'm sure you know it. If you want to blue book this site, you just click over here on copy citation. And I know you use the blue book. So what you want to do is you take the little pull down list for the citation format and you look for the blue book. You don't see it. We went with the word standard because the blue book will not license Lexis, their name. So you choose standard. Generally, you don't need the national reporting. You don't need paralyzed citations. So you get rid of the national reporting system. And then here is the blue book site with the appropriate abbreviation for international. And then you can just copy it out and paste it into your Word document. Now, if you want to pinpoint site, let's take you into the body of the case. I'm going to scroll down past all this stuff. Let's say you decide you want to pinpoint. You're going to quote this and you want to pinpoint cited. OK, first thing you do is you highlight it. Then you see here where it says copy advanced. You click it. You're already in the current format standard. So you need to do that again. You can get rid of the national reporter system. You scroll down. You'll see here. Here is the case and here's the pinpoint site at page 315. You copy it and then you paste it into your document. And that's it. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email note. And it's a nice feature on Lexis that can make your life easier. Thank you.
