Speaker 1: Are you looking to make your Zoom meeting more accessible by adding a live transcript for your participants? Well, today I am going to show you how you can add closed captions to your Zoom meeting in just a few quick steps. If you have never met me before, my name is Kat and I help people to make more professional and engaging online presentations. If you are someone who has a paid Zoom account, you are able to set up closed captioning in your Zoom account. So let's go in and enable it if you have not done that yet. We are going to go into your online Zoom settings. You're going to see beside the settings there is the in-meeting advanced. We want to click on in-meeting advanced and head down to the area where it says closed captioning. If this has not been turned on yet, you can simply hit the toggle to turn this on. We want to enable our closed captioning. You will see three different options. One is to use a third-party software that you connect with your Zoom account. The second is to have a live transcription service transcribe the meeting automatically. And the third is to have a full transcript in the side panel of your meeting. You can choose which ones you want to turn on or off. You also have the option below to decide whether you want your participants to be able to save the transcript or not. You'll want to consider how much control you want to have over what was said during the meeting and whether that should be distributed, keeping in mind that there may be some errors in live transcription software. Once you have enabled this setting on your account, now it is time to head into your Zoom meeting and enable your transcription. You will see in your control panel at the bottom there is now a live transcript option. When you click this, you'll see a few different choices. For example, you can assign a participant to type the captions, you can type the captions, or you can connect a token for a third-party service. And finally, there's Zoom's built-in option, so you can enable this. You'll also see there is a checkbox allowing you to decide whether or not you want your participants to be able to request live transcription or not. Once we enable this live transcription, everyone in the meeting will get a warning that this meeting now has closed captioning or live transcription, and they can see some more details about who can see this transcript. They can X this out if they don't want to see the warning. You can now see the closed captioning showing up in the bottom of the screen here, and there are a few options. First of all, you can see this box here, which you can actually grab and you can drag to a different part of the screen depending on what is on the screen. You can also change the subtitle settings, so a settings box will come up which allows you to change the font size. You can drag this to make the captions larger and easier to see. You will also see the option to either hide the subtitle on the main window, or you can turn it back on again by showing the subtitle. There is also an option to show the full transcript on the side of your meeting. If we do this, you can now see that it pops up in the side, and I can see the transcription for this meeting, the entire meeting, down the side. There is also an option if you go up to this little arrow at the top and select this, you have the option to now pop out this transcript so that you can place the transcript wherever you would like, and participants can do this as well. To put it back, you can merge using this little option here, merge to the meeting window, and it will go back again. And there you have it. You can see how simple it is to enable your closed captioning and then get that started for your meeting so that it is more accessible to the participants who are showing up.
