Speaker 1: In this video, I'm going to demonstrate how members of the University can order something on Interlibrary Loan. When something you need isn't available at Reading, either in our print collection or via our online resources, you can request a loan or a copy from the Interlibrary Loans service. Before you request something, please check that we don't have it already. Go to the website to search for your item using Enterprise, our library catalogue, to check for books or summon for journal articles. In this case, I'm going to search for a particular book here called Music Education as a Craft. I'm just going to click on search and it's not found any results here, so we know that the item isn't in our library. When you're happy that the library doesn't have the item you need, you're ready to place your request. Once you have checked whether we have got your item and you are sure that we don't have it, it is time to log into your library account. To do this, just scroll down a little bit on the library homepage until you find the bit that says check your library account, renew loans or pay fines, and if you click on that button. This will then bring you through to a whole load of information about your library account, but what you need to do is to click on the staff, students and associates, check your library account now. When you click on that, it should bring you through to the sign in page and all you need to do here is just sign in with all of your details. That's what I'm doing here now. And it should bring you through to the Enterprise library catalogue. Now this has got all of the information about you and your library account. And from here, you will find that at the top of the screen in Enterprise, there is a link that says interlibrary loan requests. You just need to click on that there. If you haven't already done so at this point, it will ask you to log into your account via Office 365. You can request any type of item you need from the interlibrary loan service. Books, journals, conference proceedings or PhD theses, or even standards, anything like that you can actually request via interlibrary loan. I'm going to show you a book here as an example. Now you need to enter the details of the item that you need. As you can see, I've kind of already started to put this information in, but any information that you have is really, really useful. It is also really, really helpful if you can tell us the name of the database or the book where you found your item cited. And please do not abbreviate any of the journal titles or anything like that. The next step after you've done this and you put in all of the information that you've got, is to choose how you want your item to be delivered. Now, any books that are sort of whole books will be delivered to the library for you to collect. But when it comes to copies of individual book chapters, you can choose whether to have that delivered to you as a PDF download or a photocopy. For photocopies, anything will be delivered to a postal address, so you can either choose your home address or perhaps your department address. Those are options there that are open to you. Even if you're downloading a PDF, if that's what you've requested there, we do always request that you give us an address that we can send a physical copy to you for, just because sometimes it's not possible to download it as a PDF due to some of the restrictions on an item. So sometimes we will still need to send it to you as a photocopy. The final thing you need to do is to tick agree and agree to the copyright declaration. It is a legal requirement for us to have this for each item that you request, so we do need you to click accept on that particular set of terms and conditions there. Finally, just click submit and once you click submit, your item request is sent to the Interlibrary Loans team and we'll begin finding a location to supply your item. If you wish, you can check the details of your submitted Interlibrary Loan requests in the my account section of Enterprise. To do this, go up to where it says my account and just click on my account and then go to the requests tab to see your submitted requests. I don't have any in this particular account, but you would find that if you do have any, you'll see them all here. We hope you found this video useful.
