Speaker 1: Hello guys, in this video I will be going to tell you how to prepare response letter. So before that I want to show you an email in which here you can see this email is the decision for your manuscript which was submitted previously in a journal. If I just go through, I want to show you here you can see that reviewers have now commented on your paper and you will see that they are advising that you revise the manuscript. So ok, this is the email which was sent by chief editor. So now what we need, we need to prepare response letter. So here are reviewer comments, two reviewers in fact here is reviewer 1 and here is reviewer 3. So what you need, you just need to copy all these comments and you need to prepare response letter. So in this example I have prepared response letter already. So I want to give you detail, here you need to write to editor that what you have changed like you have just changed the format and you have changed the reference and you have just changed some numbering. So what all the things which you have changed in the manuscript like here is revised manuscript you can just name this manuscript as R1. This is the ID of that paper and here this is revision 1. So what you need to do, you need to just mention all the revised text in different color like here this word I have mentioned in red color. So it means this word is changed than previous version. So few other changes here are some changes which are mentioned in red color. So here are also few and so on. Even at the end of references I have changed some words which are mentioned in red color. So all these changes you need to just tell to the editor that what you have changed. So here if we go back to our response letter we can see that I have mentioned. So because the reviewer 1 has no comment he just he is happy and he said that this manuscript is well written and logically guides to the reader through the train of thought. So he is actually giving positive comment. So here we don't need to improve the manuscript. You just need to say him thank you and thank you for your time and appreciation. But in this manuscript actually the reviewer number 3 has asked few questions. He has just two major concerns. This is number one and what you need to do you just need to prepare response and you have to give all the details that how you just tackle that question that like here I have mentioned. Dear reviewer I have agreed with your concern but it was already mentioned in material and method line number 102 to 104. So here I want to mention that you must need to mention these line number because these line number are easier to find in the revised manuscript so that editor and reviewer can just go through your manuscript and they don't need to check the whole manuscript. They just need to check line number 102 to 104. So similarly in line number 182 to 187 he just mentioned few mistakes. So here I have mentioned the response and I just tried to convince him and that I have just changed the manuscript as he suggested. So here are also some few minor comments that you just need to mention this semicolon in line number 35 I have just added response. Yeah here one thing is important that you need to just mention response of each comment one by one like this. Yeah like for this one I have done like for this one I have revised. You can just mention that like deleted here are the keywords have been fixed. So this is the way how you prepare the response letter this response letter usually you need to send to the editor and you have to upload this response letter when you usually submit your revised version of manuscript in the system.
