+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Hey everyone, it's Estella here. Today I'm going to be talking about how to excel in clubs and get leadership positions in clubs and basically how to get positions in whatever clubs you want so that it looks good on your college resume. So yeah, that's the topic of today's video. I hope that you guys enjoy it and find it helpful and if you do, please leave a big thumbs up so that I know and make more videos like these. Alright, so that's basically it for the intro, so let's get into the video. Okay, so first let's talk about how I personally got leadership positions at my school. So right now I am the president of the Investment Club, the vice president of the Model United Nations Club, the co-president of the Future Business Leaders of America Club, and the webmaster of the Inter-Club Council at my school. Yeah, so those are my four leadership positions. So I guess let's get into how I got leadership positions. Try to be really active and try to start as early as you possibly can. It really helps if you start freshman or sophomore year because as people will be graduating, obviously there will be more space available for you and you'll have also more years to get to know everyone and to get to know the sponsor, which is crucial, so. Okay, so with Investment Club, same thing. I started it last year, my sophomore year, and the two leaders, like I said, they graduated, but I was by far the most active person in the club. I really tried to help plan things if I could, like sometimes I'd give suggestions. I attended every single meeting. I never missed a meeting. I like invited my uncle over to talk one time because he knows about investing. Things like that. I just tried to be really active. I stayed for all of the meetings. I talked to everyone and everyone got to know me, and I think that really helped with becoming an officer and the sole leader. The point is that I basically got the position by just being really active and talking to everyone and being there in the meetings. I started Model United Nations in freshman year, and I basically just climbed up the ranks like that. So my freshman year I was obviously nobody, and I became the, I think the secretary in my sophomore year, and then the vice president this year, and then hopefully I'll be president next year. So it's kind of been like a stepwise progression. Okay, and then with FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America. So if you want to be an officer without having to put in the years, you can obviously try to start your own club. It depends on your school. Some schools might not let you start a new club. You might just have to stick with the ones that are already there, and in that case it's just with working hard and being active. But you can definitely try to start your own club. That's always really good, and obviously gives you an instant leadership position as president, and usually you're vice president if you're starting with someone else, or co-president, doesn't really matter. But the point is that you'll be there as an officer from the beginning. So that's really great because you already don't have to worry about the hierarchy, about putting in the effort, like if you don't want to or you don't have time to and it's your junior year already, or something like that. So yeah, that's why I, and I started the Future Business Leaders of America club because I realized that I didn't have one at my school, and I know that it's a really great club, so I decided to start it, and with the other person, obviously. And what else was there? And then Interclub Council, that was kind of because it wasn't so much that everyone knew me, it was just that I had attended before, and I kind of had a gist of what it was like, and I applied, and luckily I was the only person who was applying for webmaster, so when it came to the vote, I was the only person. So yeah, that's basically how I got my four leadership positions. So yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe if you found this video helpful and want to see more videos in the future, and yeah, I guess I'll see you guys next time, bye guys.
