+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Hello everyone and welcome to the tutorial where I will be showing you how you can use Otter to transcribe already recorded audio files. So if you do have audio files saved on your phone or desktop that you recorded during class or have recorded off of a video file from the internet, you can actually use these files and create a transcription just by simply importing them into Otter. So normally when we use Otter we click on the record button and it starts recording and transcribing real time. In this instance we're actually going to use our downloaded mp3 files and today we'll use Britney Spears Oops I Did It Again and we're going to click the import button here and as I drag over the audio file it's going to slowly upload it to Otter and after it's finished uploading it's actually going to generate a transcript of the audio. So in this case it's going to generate all of the song lyrics for me. Once the file has been fully uploaded you're going to hit done and it will take some degree of time for the processing to occur anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes until it's complete. Alright now you can see that the audio is complete for the Britney Spears song and if I click on the audio file that I just uploaded here you can see all of the lyrics have been transcribed. Feel free to use this strategy for videos that you get for your online courses, anything you've recorded during lecture, group meetings, anything that you need transcribed you can always upload a recorded file after the fact so you don't actually have to just record during lecture. And that is how you use Otter to transcribe audio from already recorded files.
