+1 (831) 222-8398[00:00:00] Speaker 1: What if I told you that the scariest movie of the year is basically a podcast? Undertone follows a paranormal podcast host who starts receiving mysterious audio recordings while she's caring for her dying mother. And most of the tension in the movie doesn't come from jump scares or big visuals. It comes from listening. I'd like to speak with Mary. Which means the core storytelling device of the entire film is basically a podcast. But this is what grabs every podcaster's attention. This movie is mostly one character in one house reacting to audio recordings. That's the same storytelling tool that most podcasters and indie creators already use every day. And yet A24 turned that idea into a full theatrical horror film. Which is a pretty cool reminder that audio-first storytelling is powerful. If a podcast-style narrative can hold an audience for an entire movie, imagine what it can do for your show. If you've seen Undertone, did it feel more like a movie or a podcast? Let me know in the comments.
