+1 (831) 222-8398[00:00:00] Speaker 1: There's been an almost complete internet blackout in Iran since the 8th of January and videos are slowly trickling out. Verified footage shows snipers stationed on top of a roof, one on the phone with a large rifle and the other smoking. And CCTV cameras being smashed in the country's capital, Tehran, as protesters cheer on below. And we've seen more footage of the protests where you can hear multiple rounds of gunfire. Although these were posted recently, most of them were likely filmed on the 8th and 9th of January, some of the deadliest nights of protesters in Iran. More than 6,000 people have been killed since the unrest began at the end of December. That's according to the US-based human rights activist news agency, Harana. They say this includes at least 5,600 protesters. It says it's also currently investigating another 17,000 reported deaths. Iranian authorities said last week that more than 3,100 people were killed, but that the majority were security personnel or bystanders attacked by rioters.
