Reason number one, having a brilliant LinkedIn profile will definitely help you get hired more often, because hiring managers and employers will look at your LinkedIn profile during the application process. So, it's really important nowadays to have a professional and positive LinkedIn profile. And the second reason why you should have a great LinkedIn profile is because it will help you get hired more often. And the second reason why you should have a great LinkedIn profile is because you will struggle to get connections if your LinkedIn profile is weak. Now, people are more likely to connect with you on LinkedIn if your profile looks professional and you are active on the platform. So, let me now give you those five powerful tips for creating a brilliant LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn profile tip number one is to make sure you have a clear head and shoulders photo with a white background. Now, I see people time and time again on LinkedIn without a photograph. Now, I have on my LinkedIn profile approximately 70,000 followers. And people are always following me and those that try to connect with me, a lot of them don't have a photo. I will not connect with someone if they don't have a photo. So, make sure you have a clear head and shoulders photo with a white background. So, make sure you have a clear head and shoulders photo with a white background, preferably. So, you can see there that my LinkedIn profile photograph has a white background. It looks really professional. I also recommend you wear a smart outfit, smile and look straight ahead. I say look straight ahead because this shows confidence. That photograph of me looks very confident. That's the image I want to portray. Now, where do you get the background of your photograph created white? Well, you can do it via two options. You can do it via two options. You can do it via two options. You can do it via two websites. The first one is called remove.bg. So, you simply upload your photograph on that website, remove.bg, and they give you one free credit, which means that they will remove the background, make the background on your photograph transparent or white on one image for free. Okay. So, you upload your image there, the one that you want to use on your LinkedIn profile, and they will remove the background for you. Or conversely, just go to the website, canva.com. Sign up for a free personal account and you can do it on there too. So, I believe it looks far better if your photo profile picture has a transparent background. LinkedIn profile tip number two is to make sure you upload a clean and simple looking LinkedIn banner. So, there's my banner right across the top of my LinkedIn profile. It's very simple. It is easy to read and it tells everyone exactly what I do. So, on the banner, you can include your name and the area of specialism. So, let's assume I was a project manager. I would have a banner something like that. Richard McMunn, project manager. Or if I was a content marketing specialist, I would put Richard McMunn, content marketing specialist and include my contact details on the right hand side. But where do you get, where do you get banners like this for, your LinkedIn profile? Free banners. Well, you can get free LinkedIn banners at the website, canva.com. You can also edit them and add your name and your area of specialism on that direct platform. LinkedIn profile tip number three. So don't go anywhere. But if you want to download my 60 ready-made LinkedIn headlines and profile summaries, you can click that link in the top right-hand corner of the video. They are brilliant for all job roles. So let's have a look at LinkedIn profile tip number five, and this is in relation to skills. Now, I recommend once you've created, uploaded your LinkedIn profile photo, your banner, your headline, your profile summary, then look at the skills section. So I recommend you add skills to your LinkedIn profile to add more credibility. So you can add lots of different skills, but you click that button there on your LinkedIn profile to add your skills. It will then give you the opportunity to input your skills, only input skills that you actually have. But let me help you because these are the top 10 in-demand skills right now. Skill number one, communication. Skill number two, customer service. Skill number three, leadership. Number four is sales. Number five, project management. Number six, research skills. Number seven, management skills. Number eight, analytical skills. Number nine is marketing. And number 10 is teamwork and collaboration skills. So you can pause the video if you want to and write down those top 10 in-demand skills. Those are the ones that I would include on my profile on LinkedIn. Now, moving on from LinkedIn profile tip number five, the second part of this tip is I recommend that you make sure you demonstrate those skills to show employers and hiring managers you already made for their company. How do you do that? Well, on that same section where you have added your skills, click that button. It's called demonstrate your skills. So anybody can say that they're good at sales or good at leadership or good at project management, but you need to demonstrate those skills to all employees. So I recommend that you demonstrate those skills to all employees. So when you click that button that I've just showed you, that demonstrate skills one, it will take you through to something that looks like this. And it says demonstrate transferable skills. So you can choose your skills to demonstrate. So you can click sales, for example. So you choose the skills that you want to demonstrate and it gives you another page. Then what you would do is you would answer that question. And the question there is, why do you think you would succeed in sales? And you can include your answer in that section to demonstrate you have the relevant skills. Now, let me give you based on skills and also certification and courses you have completed. Let me give you a LinkedIn profile booster. This is a brilliant tip for really boosting credibility and authority and helping you to get hired at the first attempt. So I recommend you consider adding courses or certification to your LinkedIn profile in order to boost authority and credibility. How do you do that? Well, if you look at your LinkedIn profile, when you scroll down, there is a button that appears on the homepage that says add profile section. So if you click that button, add profile section, you can add another section to your profile and it will give you some options. So I recommend you click the recommended section. If you click that section there, it will give you another page. You can have a look there. It says add a featured profile, add licenses. Add certifications, add projects that you have completed, add recommendations where people recommend you and add courses. So this is a brilliant way to boost your LinkedIn profile credibility. So what you could do, especially if you have limited experience, is to go to the website Udemy.com and complete some of their courses and then add them to your LinkedIn profile under that section, add courses. So if you head over to Udemy.com, U-D-E-M-Y.com, then you can enroll on specific training courses. So here on this page, I've searched on the bar for sales training and it gives me lots of really good courses with high reviews. So these are obviously really good courses. That one there that I have highlighted, the one in red, takes two and a half hours to complete. It's got 23,000 really good reviews and that teaches you sales training, practical sales techniques. You could complete that course and then add it to your LinkedIn profile. You can see that you have certification courses in your area of specialism. These type of things will definitely help you get hired. You can access lots of different courses at Udemy.com, project management, customer service, administrative techniques, lots of different things. Check it out. Okay. Now, before I again show you where you can download these ready-made 60 LinkedIn profile templates, let me give you the eight best words to use on your LinkedIn profile to improve credibility. Here's the first one. Customer-centric. So if you include that word on your profile summary, being customer-centric means you put customers first and you always provide outstanding service. The second best word for LinkedIn is team player. This means you do not work in isolation. Instead, you collaborate with other people to get the job done quickly and to a high standard. The third brilliant word for LinkedIn is problem solver. This means you take ownership of difficult challenges and problems. The fourth great word to use on your LinkedIn profile is adaptable. So this means you are not rigid in your work or job description, but instead you will be flexible to assist your employer and you will also embrace change with a positive mindset. You will be open to trying new company initiatives. The fifth brilliant word for LinkedIn is resilient. This means you remain calm in the face of adversity and recover quickly from difficulties. This means you are not alone. You are not alone. You are not difficult situations. Another great word for LinkedIn is results-driven. I love this. This means your work is focused on achieving great things for your employer. The seventh of our eight words is cost-conscious. This is brilliant. So if you are cost-conscious, it means you are frugal with supplies and resources, and you always seek ways to help your employer save money, streamline systems and processes to improve or increase company profits. And the final word is value-focused. This is a great one. So if you are a value-focused employee, it means your work is focused on giving your employer a great return on their investment. And their investment is your salary every month. So you want to add value to their company. Okay. I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial. By the way, you can connect with me on LinkedIn.
