+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Before we get started, we wanted to give a quick thank you to Fiverr for sponsoring today's video. To learn more about Fiverr and read Video Maker's ethical stance on sponsorships, click the link in the description.
Speaker 2: Oh no, we gotta go.
Speaker 1: Andy here for Video Maker. There was a lot that went into making that scene. Doing post-production work can take loads of time and skill, but not everyone has access to that kind of content creator. So, what do you do when you need post-production work done and don't have the connections or resources to get a qualified professional? Today, we're using Fiverr. As you saw, the scene had both visual effects and sound design in it. We sent off two sample shots and ended with that scene. Want to know how we got the project done? We'll show you in this video. We have the establishing shot and a cutaway. They both need visual effects and sound design. In the establishing shot, we'll need to replace the sky and background so it looks like Central Park in New York City. Track and match the subject to cover up and change a logo on their shirt. Add in an asteroid crashing in the background. Grade and match the shot. Give the shot a look. And lastly, add camera shake for when the asteroid hits the earth. In this shot, we'll need to remove the boom mic from the shot. Track, remove, and replace logo on the shirt. Rotoscope and separate the subject from the background to give the shot the appearance of a shallower depth of field. Match the color from the establishing shot. Grade the shot. Give the scene a look. And add movement to look like a handheld shot. Getting your project ready to send to a professional freelancer can be difficult. Check out our article on preparing your project and assets for visual effects work for an easy guide. It also includes a checklist for quick reference. There's a link to it in the description. For the sound design, added ambience for more intensity, foley for footsteps, meteor crash, and screams from people afar. Oh no, we gotta go. Clean up dialogue, add an underscore, and swells to make a move for what is happening. Lastly, mix the scene. Oh no, we gotta go. To make sure the sound designer has everything they need, read our article preparing your project and assets for sound design for an easy guide. Again, there's a link in the description for it. To make sure your project and files are ready to send to the sound designer, use the companion quick checklist found within that article. With it, you'll be able to have your files travel to and back from the sound designer smoothly. For this project, we used these creators. The whole process was quick. The creators on Fiverr were professionals. This is also a good time for a critique or corrections if they need to be made. Remember, the visual effects should be done first and then the sound design. Let's take a look at what we had before visual effects.
Speaker 3: Oh no, we gotta go.
Speaker 1: Now here it is again with the visual effects, but without the sound design.
Speaker 3: Oh no, we gotta go.
Speaker 1: Lastly, the full scene with both visual effects and sound design.
Speaker 2: Oh no, we gotta go.
Speaker 1: There is no need to fret if you have work that exceeds your ability or timetable. Getting it done by a professional freelancer on Fiverr is just a few clicks away. And it's a great way to manage difficult or time-consuming work.
