+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Hi friends. Welcome to my channel. Let's learn. In today's video, I will talk about how to do preparation for Scribi.com transcription test and how to practice your transcription skills before really applying for the test. So, without any further delay, let's get started. First of all, go to Scribi.com. This is how the homepage would look like. Navigate to top right corner and click on sign up. Then it will ask if you are a transcriber or a customer. Simply click on transcriber. I want to work as a transcriber. Next, if they are hiring at the moment, you will be asked to apply for transcription test. But before applying for the test, I recommend to know more about the company. It is always best that you do some research and get yourself familiar with the company. Scroll up the same page. Here you can see there are 7 tabs. Introduction, Guidelines, Sample, Terms, FAQ, Practice and Apply. In introduction tab, you will find everything you must need to know before really applying for the test. It will answer most of your questions like how much you can earn, how much time you have to work, how you will get paid, when will you get paid, what are the requirements, what will be the procedure and most important of all, it will help you make an informed decision if it worth your time or not. So please read the introduction and get yourself familiar with Scribi.com. Next tab you can see is the Guidelines tab. This is where your preparation of the transcription test starts. The transcription guidelines is a set of rules that should be always followed. Therefore, please adhere to these as strictly as possible. You have to read and understand these rules properly. In comparison to other transcription sites, Scribi has easiest and shortest guidelines. I am sure you will be able to follow it after reading it once or twice. To give you further more clarity, in the next tab you have a sample audio transcript. You can play the audio and look at the transcript to further enhance your understanding about transcripts and guidelines. After having a thorough understanding of the guidelines, it's time to practice. So we will go to Practice tab and you have to read the instructions very carefully. Then after that, these are the practice files. So select one of these practice files and start practicing. This is how the Scribi editor looks like. At the top you have many options like Audio Control, Spell Check, Find and Replace and Auto Transcribe. Here you have the Text Editor and here you have few more options like Frequent Terms, Notes, Saves and Submit options. So we will start transcribing it but to save your time, do not transcribe the whole audio file manually. Just click on Auto Transcribe and see what happens. Automated transcript has been generated and here it claims it is 92% correct. So we will make use of this option to save our time. Now all you have to do is fill in the blanks with the missing words or make correction in the below transcript according to guidelines. Let me show you how you do this.
Speaker 2: I'm 29 years old. I work for Booz Allen Hamilton as an Infrastructure Analyst for NSA in Hawaii.
Speaker 3: You held previously within the intelligence community.
Speaker 2: I have been. And a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, Senior Advisor for the Central Intelligence Agency, Solutions Consultant and a Technical Advisor for the Central Intelligence Agency. And a Telecommunications Information Systems Officer. One of the things people are going to be most interested in, in trying to understand who you are and what you are thinking.
Speaker 4: What, who you are and what you are thinking, is there came some point in time when you crossed this line of thinking about the information systems. What, who you are and what you are thinking, is there came some point in time when you crossed this line of thinking about being a whistleblower to making the choice to actually become a whistleblower. What, who you are and what you are thinking, is there came some point in time when you crossed this line of thinking about being a whistleblower to making the choice to actually become a whistleblower.
Speaker 2: When you're in positions of privileged access. Through that decision-making process. When you're in positions of privileged access, like a Systems Administrator for these sort of intelligence community agencies, you're exposed to a lot more information on a broader scale than the average employee. And because of that, you see things that may be disturbing, but over the course of.
Speaker 1: I will not complete this audio file. I'm leaving it here for you to complete. Just keep doing it like this, and when you are done, then submit the audio to see the results. As you can see, I have made corrections in the beginning of the audio, so there are no mistakes in the beginning. But rest of the transcript is full of errors, so you have to work on them. More you practice, more you will improve. After having done sufficient practice, you are ready to apply for the test. Go to Apply tab and log in with your PayPal account. PayPal account is mandatory. Without PayPal account, you cannot apply for the test or work with Scribi.com. So if you don't have one, please apply for it. It may take three to four days to get approved. I've also made a video about how to create a PayPal account. You can find the link in the description. That's it for today. In my next video, I will show you a live demo on how to work on Scribi.com.
