Speaker 1: The ASC is a place where students can go to get all the tools they might need to be successful. Struggling students can come and get help with reading skills, note-taking skills, test prep, and then even those students who are doing really well in class can come and learn more approaches to study even more effectively and more efficiently.

Speaker 2: I think that students choose to come here because they're looking for support as they're working on their degree programs. So some of our students, they come here just to study, they may need some moral support as they're working through the semester, or they may need some academic assistance to help them get through some of our classes that are a bit harder, and then the students also come down here to use the computers and to talk with each other and get support throughout the semester.

Speaker 3: A friend of mine introduced me to the center and I came down here and I noticed that I could get help anytime I can, especially that it's free, so I started coming here more often.

Speaker 1: The Academic Support Center offers tutoring in science, writing, math, and we have professional tutors, we have peer tutors who are more content-based, and then we have supplemental instruction which difficult courses are targeted, and a student who has been successful in those courses serves as a supplemental instruction leader. They've been through the class, they know how to organize the material and how to study, they know how to prepare for tests.

Speaker 4: I decided to try SI out because I've never been really good at science and I knew that I would probably struggle in this class. I decided to take extra steps to help me not just get an average grade in the class, but I wanted to get either a B or an A and I knew that extra help would definitely help me reach my goal of that.

Speaker 2: I think the Academic Support Center is setting up our students for success because we provide them with a space where they can have access to high-quality tutors. In addition to that, for students who may not have access to computers and other technological resources at home, we provide a place where they can come here and use those services.

Speaker 5: Everyone here is so compassionate about what they do, whether it's the front desk, whether it's the tutors, whether it's the writing center, everyone has so much compassion for what they do and it's really personal.

Speaker 6: Every person that I work with has a personal experience with you. Either you're going through personal things in your life or whether you're going through educational, you need the extra push, the extra help.

Speaker 7: Academic Support Center is the best place to come when you start the semester. To not stuck in the corner when you're in classes. To come to the center to help the needs and at the end of the semester to be successful.

Speaker 8: All students should utilize all the resources and all the help that is given to them. A lot of students may think that having a tutor is like a bad thing. They feel dumb or stupid, but we're college students and stuff gets hard. Please come in and utilize the space. Everybody is here to help. Don't feel alone.

Speaker 1: It's so much better to study with someone else. So please come here, study with a tutor, come to supplemental instruction sessions and study with a group of your peers. You will learn so much better by studying with someone else.
