[00:00:00] Speaker 1: What is going on with NFL head coaches? A quarter of the league's coaches are now looking for new work after a slew of firings at the end of the regular season. The Miami Dolphins have just cut Mike McDaniel after a rather lackluster season. He's the eighth to be fired. A cull which included the Ravens' John Harbaugh, a Super Bowl winning coach who's been in Baltimore for 18 years. He likely won't be out of work for long. Eight cut coaches might seem like a lot, but actually this is pretty much par for the course. Last season, seven were fired. The year before, it was nine. And the carnage historically occurs around Black Monday, the nickname for the day after the regular season. But the Falcons showed Raheem Morris the door on Sunday night, and actually the Titans and the Giants were so disappointed with the direction they were heading in that they canned their coaches in October and in November. You know, if anything is surprising, it's that there haven't been more of them kicked to the curb. It had seemed as though the Buccaneers' Todd Bowles was in jeopardy. And if you think that eight seems high, well, then you should see what happens in Premier League soccer in England, where six coaches, more than a quarter, have already been fired this season. And only halfway through the campaign, and one team has already fired two of its coaches. These NFL guys have it easy.
