Speaker 1: Okay, so here is hopefully a quick tutorial on how to deal with forced subtitles. So I have this movie called Ford vs. Ferrari, it's a Blu-ray movie, and I noticed in our movie subtitle spreadsheet here, if I go control F and type in Ford vs. Ferrari, you'll notice here that it shows that it has a forced subtitle for the English speaking part. It's in the second English subtitle track. So here is our Make MKV, and as you'll notice, here's the primary title, the one with the most chapters, and the largest file size, and our English subtitle track, there's two of them, and when I'm working with these files, I go through and I uncheck the stuff that I don't want. So I only want the DTS HD Master Audio track with its little brother, DTS Surround track, and I get rid of, you know, I don't want Spanish or French, I just need the English subtitle tracks, and one of these is going to be basically a full subtitle track, and then the other one is going to be the foreign speaking parts, as you can see here, forced only. So we're going to decide which one of these tracks is the forced subtitle track, it's probably going to be the second one, considering that's what our spreadsheet says. So then I took the time, I ripped that already, so here is the Ford vs. Ferrari file, the exported file, and then as you'll notice, based on the timestamp here, 2906, it should
Speaker 2: have, if I go to 2906, and there we have it, 2906, there was no, there was no subtitle.
Speaker 1: So we're going to fix that by downloading a program called MKV Toolnix. So here's the website to download it, just go down here to Windows, and here's a website to download it, Fosshub.com. We're going to download the Windows Installer 64-bit, and we're just going to, I already have it downloaded, but I'm going to update to the latest version here. So here we have the installer, and I'll open the program, I think I already have it installed here, so we'll just go here to the, here it is right here, it says that we're on version 66.00, I believe that's the correct version based on what the website says, so we'll just close that website. Once we have our MKV Toolnix GUI, we go here to Header, Editor, we drag and drop our file, the Ford vs Ferrari file, into the GUI, and then under Header, Editor, as we noticed here, it says that it's going to be the second English subtitle track, but if this list is incorrect, you can just experiment with each track, and it says that I have three tracks here. So I recall just ripping two, but we're going to just assume that it's the second one here, and we'll check it out by going down here, expanding here, Subtitle Track, clicking on Force Display Flag, we're going to add an element, and then change the value to Yes, so add element, change the value to Yes, and then we're going to go up here to Header, Editor, click on Save, and then just go back to our file here, and go to 29.06, so right about here, and you should notice that the Ford subtitle track is enabled, and there is your foreign speaking parts, your Italian foreign speaking parts, English subtitle track, and that should be enabled on all of the video players that you would use for playing back your media, and that's it. So all these websites will be listed in the description below, including where to download the file from.
