+1 (831) 222-8398[00:00:00] Speaker 1: The American TV presenter Savannah Guthrie has addressed the kidnappers of her 84-year-old mother Nancy in a new video posted on social media. In the emotional message, Ms. Guthrie said it was never too late to do the right thing. Nancy Guthrie went missing more than two weeks ago and police believe she was abducted from her home in Arizona. Investigators are examining DNA from a glove that was recovered from a field about three kilometers away. They say the glove appears to match those worn by a masked intruder who was seen in doorbell video footage at the house. This is Savannah Guthrie's latest Instagram post.
[00:00:36] Speaker 2: It's been two weeks since our mom was taken and I just wanted to come on and say that um we still have hope and we still believe and I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is that it's never too late and you're not lost or alone and it is never too late to do the right thing and we are here and we believe and we believe in the essential goodness of every human being and it's never too late.
[00:01:46] Speaker 1: Well our correspondent David Willis is in Tucson and has the latest on the investigation.
[00:01:52] Speaker 3: The doorbell camera on Nancy Guthrie's front door captured images of a masked man who appeared to be wearing thick black gloves. Now a couple of days after Nancy Guthrie disappeared detectives came across what could prove to be a very significant clue in this case. A glove was found in a field a couple of miles from Nancy Guthrie's home and the FBI has since confirmed that it is a match for the gloves that were captured on tape on videotape from that surveillance footage. So now DNA from that glove has been sent away for analysis and the hope is that there a match can be found amongst the FBI's vast DNA database. Separately a couple of days ago sheriff's deputies said that they had uncovered DNA evidence from Nancy Guthrie's home itself which belonged neither to her nor to any of her close friends or relatives so that sample of DNA has also been sent away for analysis. What all this amounts to isn't clear. The authorities here haven't held a press conference in more than a week but it increasingly looks as though forensic evidence is going to be crucial to solving the case of the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.
[00:03:21] Speaker 1: David Willis for us there in Tucson.
