[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Three, two, one. This is day three of trying to break the Shure SM58. If you didn't already know, the Shure SM58 is the most indestructible microphone. So in this series, we're putting it through a series of tests to see how long it lasts until it breaks. Day one, we dropped it from a high place. Day two, we tried to drown it. Today, we're taking things up a notch. Three, two, one. Is it okay? Let me try it. Oh, gosh. Yeah. Now that's more like it. Dropping it from the high place, not much happened. There was a little dent on the side, but now this actually looks like that baby doll head being smashed in. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to get this grill off, but yeah, this is designed to protect the insides of the microphone. So obviously first test, let's see how the wire components are looking. They are just fine. There is nothing wrong with these whatsoever. And obviously the XLR input is looking great. The body of the microphone, honestly, doesn't even have scratches on it. It looks great, but this grill is absolutely smashed. I can't get the grill off, so we're not gonna be able to see inside. But even though we can't get the capsule off, let's see if it still works. All right, moment of truth. And it still works. I can hear myself just fine, getting waveforms on the recorder. So even though this is flat as a pancake right now, my voice still sounds great. And honestly, the audio quality still holds up just as good as it did when we submerged it in water. Well, now we've done three days of this test and this microphone is still functioning, and that is not okay with me. So let us know in the comments what we should do next, and we'll see you on day four.

Arow Summary
A creator documents day three of a series trying to break a Shure SM58 microphone, known for durability. After earlier tests (dropping it and submerging it in water), they smash the mic’s grille severely, inspect visible wiring and XLR input (both appear fine), and note the body has minimal damage. Despite the grille being flattened and impossible to remove for internal inspection, the microphone still records audio clearly and functions normally. The creator asks viewers to suggest the next destructive test for day four.

Arow Key Takeaways
  • The Shure SM58 remains functional even after severe external grille deformation.
  • Internal wiring and XLR connection show no obvious damage after impact.
  • The mic body resists scratches and structural damage better than the grille.
  • Audio quality appears unchanged despite prior water submersion and current physical damage.
  • The series continues with audience suggestions for increasingly extreme tests.
Arow Sentiments
Neutral: The tone is playful and impressed by the microphone’s resilience, but the narration is primarily observational and test-focused with mild frustration that it still hasn’t broken.
