[00:00:01] Speaker 1: Do you want to see how Slackbot helps sellers? Check this out. Hello and welcome back to Slack School. I'm your host, Mike. And today we're going to be talking about how Slackbot can immediately add value when you are selling using the Salesforce platform. Now, of course, Slackbot helps everyone, but today we're going to talk about that sales lifecycle and some ways that Slackbot can immediately add value. And we know that Slackbot is your AI agent for work. But how does that translate into actions that you can actually use? I'm going to go over three separate examples. The first, we're going to start up at the top of the funnel with leads, then we're going to move into an example, looking at how to help prepare when you walk into a new meeting. And we're going to wrap things up by trying to find the most pressing thing to work on. I was just at Cairo Dreaming. What's up, Cairo? And they played this really cool game where, as an icebreaker, everybody had 60 seconds to go exchange as many business cards as they could. And I thought this was really cool. And I totally did not win. Somebody beat me by over 20. It was really remarkable, but it got me thinking, if I had a stack of business cards, could I hand them to Slackbot and then have Slackbot do something with those? So I figured we would try this out. So I happen to have my old business card. So I'm going to put this over here. You stay over here. Okay. So I've got my old business card. I'm going to take a photo. I'm going to take a photo. All right, perfect. Now let's see what Slackbot can do with this. I went ahead and passed this over and, excuse my demo word, I just asked Slackbot, is this person already in my Salesforce instance? I didn't say as a lead or as a contact, so we'll see what Slackbot thinks. So this is pretty awesome. Slackbot has recognized that this is one, a business card. It's got the information from that business card, and now it's checking both leads and contacts to see if this person is already in my Salesforce instance. One thing I will note here that Slackbot's not pointing out is that Slackbot is limited to only those contacts and leads that I have access to. So of course you could have a situation where the contact does exist, but your user doesn't know about it. And maybe that's the case here. Maybe it's not as that user. I'm going to be limited. I won't know. But as I was thinking about this, maybe this is too easy, right? We've had technology that can ingest a photo of a business card for a pretty long time. What if we made it harder? What if this was a handwritten note? And to make it even worse, what if it was my handwriting? Which is really great. So let's try this again with a note that I took. I'm going to drop this in here, and let's see what Slackbot says of my handwriting. So here, I've actually, I ran out of room with the email address, and I started going kind of down the page. So I'm interested to see how Slackbot is going to react. So, very cool. We can see that this contact is already in there. Excuse me, it's not a contact, it's a lead. And so we found the information. And it didn't have a problem with my handwriting at all. It didn't have a problem with how it went down the page, and I think that's really cool. And so there's a lot of different ways that we could apply this. It might be my notes from the call, and I might be saying, hey, we need to set up another meeting and do something. And in fact, why don't we do that? So I've just said, can you set up a block of time for me to follow up with Sarah? So again, we're trying to hold on to the context of, we found this record in Salesforce, now I want to do something with that. It's a good follow-up, wants to know about how much time I need. This is perfect. So Slackbot was able to set up that time for me to follow up, and it's put the meeting directly on my calendar. It's hard to get better than that. I'm going to let Slackbot know that I just got to my customer's office, and I'm about to walk in the meeting, and to just take a look around, let me know if there's anything I should know about. This story is inspired by something that actually happened to me. I got to my client's office, I walked in the door, and I got blindsided by an issue that they had, and it was a pretty big problem, that we were able to work through it, but it absolutely did not end up being a discovery session, which is what I thought it was going to be, where I got to ask them what we were going to be working on over the next few weeks. Definitely was not that. So let's see what Slackbot does. It's able to find the customer by just the name, which is great. It's able to find, oh, it found a deal, but it also found a critical issue. So the customer, maybe right after I got on the plane to fly to New York City, they opened up a ticket and said that they have a SEV1 issue. Now I of course don't know about this. I'm in the taxi, just minding my own business on my way to the office, and all of a sudden, I'm going to walk into a pretty big problem. With Slackbot, I'm able to actually see that problem before I walk in the door, because Slackbot is able to check everything. If you look at this, it's checked opportunities, it's checked cases, the account, and it's laid out a quick strategy so that I can go into this meeting. I'm now informed about the problem. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on a resolution instead of showing up trying to sell something, right? Slackbot is going to help you synergize all of these different things, pull them together into one spot so that you can very quickly and concisely understand the lay of the land so that when you walk into a meeting, you can be impactful and effective as soon as you get there. That's Slackbot for you. It's your AI agent for work. For this last demo, I want to take a look at what happens to a lot of us on Monday morning. I've got a great coworker, Lauren, and she calls this the Sunday Scaries. It's that feeling you get when you're about to walk into the office on Monday morning and you're like, oh gosh, I'm not really sure what to do. For me, this also happens a lot in the middle of the day, right when I've had several hours of meetings and I step out of my first meeting to actually be able to do my job. Maybe I've only got 30 minutes or 45 minutes, and I really want to make the most out of that time. Sometimes it can be hard to figure out what's the most pressing opportunity, what's the most pressing thing that I could do with the amount of time that I have. So I'm going to ask Slackbot. So I'm going to use this prompt. I've been in meetings for hours and I finally got a break. What should I focus on now? This is an incredibly open-ended question. I can see Slackbot doing things like checking my calendar, checking the records that I own in Salesforce, whether they're opportunities or cases, leads, contacts, and then just reviewing and then trying to pull all of this together. Slackbot is also going to be looking through conversations that have happened in Slack and outstanding tasks that it knows about native to Slack to let me know, hey, here's something else that you can do. But it's told me I've got a deal that's closing today and I've got some other things that I need to pay attention to. No urgent Slack notifications, that's a plus, but we've got a clear recommendation here preparing for a CFO conversation with a customer that's going to happen later today. That's really brilliant. And it saves me a lot of time and a lot of hassle because I didn't have to review all these things, Slackbot did it for me, like an AI agent for work would. There are so many ways that Slackbot, your AI agent for work, can immediately add value if you're selling on the Salesforce platform or any platform, just connect it to Slack. Arow Summary
In this Slack School episode, host Mike shows how Slackbot can add immediate value to sellers working in Salesforce across the sales lifecycle. First, he demonstrates capturing lead data by snapping a photo of a business card or even a handwritten note; Slackbot extracts details, checks Salesforce leads/contacts within the user’s access, and can trigger next actions like scheduling a follow-up on the calendar. Second, he shows meeting prep: by telling Slackbot he’s arriving at a customer meeting, Slackbot finds the account, related opportunities and cases, flags a critical SEV1 issue, and provides a quick strategy so the seller walks in informed. Third, he addresses “Sunday Scaries”/limited time blocks by asking Slackbot what to focus on; Slackbot reviews calendar, Salesforce records, Slack conversations, and tasks to recommend the most urgent priorities (e.g., a deal closing today and prep for a CFO conversation).
