+1 (831) 222-8398[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Introducing Microsoft Teams Phone User Multi-Line. This capability lets administrators assign up to 10 phone numbers to a single user, making it easy to use multiple phone numbers across different roles or regions without needing separate devices or Teams accounts. The personal number is the user's original default phone number that was set up. This user has three additional lines assigned, each with their own unique phone number. These include a 425 phone number line for a locality within the US state of Washington, a country code 33 phone number line for a locality within France, and a 437 phone number line for a locality within Toronto, Canada. User Multi-Line also shines when returning calls. In the history, we see a unified view of all inbound and outbound calls across all the user's phone lines. Each entry in the call history has a tag indicating which phone number the call was made from or received on. The filter narrows the list down to certain calling events, such as missed calls or voicemails. Let's look at missed calls.
[00:01:05] Speaker 2: The user can indicate which line they want to call from.
[00:01:14] Speaker 1: If they're calling a customer in Canada, they select the 437 line associated with the Toronto locality, dial the contact's number, and place the call. To the person on the other end, the incoming call appears completely local, helping to build greater trust. Now let's look at what happens when the user receives an inbound call. As the call comes in, Teams displays a notification banner, just like any other call, but with one important addition specific to Multi-Line. The notification clearly shows which of the user's assigned lines is being called. This gives the user additional context about why the person is calling and which identity or role the call relates to. This helps the user tailor their response, such as when they need to answer with a regional greeting or language. Contact your Teams administrator to set up this experience today.
