+1 (831) 222-8398[00:00:00] Speaker 1: This family, with six young children, is evacuating an SUV engulfed in tear gas during protests in Minneapolis. There's kids in the car. There's kids in the car. Record that. There's kids in the car. Destiny Jackson told CNN they were driving home from her son's basketball game the night an immigration agent shot a man in the leg. They didn't know, though, a protest was underway. Guys, this stuff helps me so f**king sad. Dramatic video shows them running from the vehicle and taking shelter in a nearby home. Jackson says the family pulled over because the road was blocked, but found themselves unable to leave with federal agents on both sides of the SUV. She told her husband not to move the car so they wouldn't accidentally hit one of them. She was thinking about the Immigration and Customs Enforcement killing of Rene Good, she said. Moments later, flashbangs went off nearby and a tear gas canister rolled underneath the vehicle. The SUV was rocked by a blast, airbags deployed, and its doors automatically locked as it filled with gas. Bystanders helped the family escape. Jackson says her six-month-old baby was not breathing when he was carried out. She gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while bystanders helped her other children. She later went to the hospital with the baby and two other children who have severe asthma. The Department of Homeland Security tells CNN agents did not target the family. In a statement, DHS said, quote, The city of Minneapolis said in a statement that the tear gas caused a six-month-old infant inside the vehicle to experience breathing difficulties. When police and firefighters reached the family, the infant was breathing and stable, but in serious condition, according to the statement.
