Speaker 1: Hi guys, welcome back to my channel today, we're going to be talking about the right project management certifications for you Let's get started All right, are you thinking of taking a project management certification and you do not even know where to begin I am going to cover the well-known project management certifications in this video and i'm going to go into each one of them i've taken a fair amount of project management certifications, so I think I will be able to tell you about this. Okay, so the first certification we're going to talk about from beginners, I'm going to go to, you know, not the easiest, but the simplest to the, you know, hardest. So let's talk about the Google Project Management Certification. I have covered this certification in my previous video. So what is a Google Project Management Certification? The Google Project management certification is a certification by Google and it covers all aspects of project management. I believe as a beginner if you don't know anything about project management, if you just decided that this is something that you want to go into but you have no idea what it is, the Google project management certification is for you because it covers every nook and cranny of project management. It gives you example real-life scenarios. It gives you the opportunity to go into an activity, create a project charter, create a communication plan, creating a matrix chart. It gives you everything you need to know about project management and hands-on experience and you can actually use that in your resume in trying to get a project management job. So if you know nothing about project management, the Google Certificate is for you. Moving on to the CAPM, Certified Associate Project Management Cert. In my opinion, I believe the certification is for someone that already has a fair amount, I don't want to say experience, but knowledge about project management. That certification is for you. I'm not saying you have to have so much experience in order to take the certification but at least having a fair amount of experience not someone that knows nothing about project management because the CAPM covers terms in project management so for me it's like if you don't know anything and you're going for the CAPM and then you want to get a job you won't be able to apply the knowledge it's mostly terminologies you won't really know how to do hands-on work but with the Google project management course you'll be able to know how to do hands-on work do real-life capstone projects which you can put on your experience but the CAPM is for someone that already has zero to fairly like let's just say some type of experience not expert level but some type of experience and you want to go into project management just to boost your resume and to get an opportunity or to just refresh your refresh your mind about project management or get well versed in the terms of project management that certification is for you. Now moving on to the the best certification in the project management world and as a project manager that every new fairly intermediate project manager strives for is the PMP Project Management Professional Certification by the PMI Institute Project Management Institute. That's who gives out the certification. So this certification is the highest. It requires some type of experience in project management. At that point you need to know what you're doing as a project manager, you have to have already have experience in project management, either by a job, by school, by doing project coordination work for a fairly amount, like maybe three years in my opinion, to be able to get that certification. And that's if you have a degree, because the PMP requires five years of experience excluding a degree so with a degree i think it's six months correct me if i'm wrong i can't really remember but yeah that one requires you to have experience you already know what you're doing it just kind of solidifies your experience and that is where you want to be at the end of the day as a project manager i have not taken that certification but my plan is to take that certification in 2024 and then I'll really be able to tell you about my experience and everything like that so that is all the certifications at least the important certifications that you need to know as a project manager and you can see and gauge where you need to start from an additional certification for you guys is the CSM certified scrum master this is an additional certification that you can have I took it, it teaches you more about the Agile methodology. I know PMI is implementing the Agile methodology, the Agile concept in your certifications now, but the CSM allows you to learn more about Scrum, more about Scrum processes, which is mostly used in technology in today's age, but can be applied in other you know project management departments but can't really be applied in construction to be honest with you maybe people are trying to use that but to me it's not really realistic to apply scrum in construction projects but to each their own the CSM is a fairly good certification to have just to have it on your resume and to have that knowledge about agile methodologies if you guys have any questions, please let me know in the description box below. If you are an experienced project manager and you have knowledge to share with other people, let me know in the description box below.
