The ordering menu has simple and straightforward options which can provide extra items like timestamps. Furthermore, customers can send notes to be passed on to the transcriptionist before their document is worked on such as a string of uncommon words and even speaker names. This feature is exclusive to this particular service, it could be incredibly helpful for customers. TranscriptionPanda offers specialists in areas such as academia, law, and medicine. However, since it is not HIPAA compliant, it may not be suitable for certain medical transcription needs. TranscriptionPanda sends your file to your email inbox as a Word file. There is no web editor, so editing and downloading your file must be done with a compatible app like Word or Google Docs. These apps are free and accessible, making the lack of a web editor not an issue. Editing may be harder as you have to replay the audio file outside of the transcription service. Other transcription services usually include an audio player and their web editor for this purpose. TranscriptionPanda is a relatively new company compared to industry leaders, however, they provide accurate transcriptions. We tested it against two more reputable companies, Reverend and Scribble. Reverend and Scribble offer an AI-based transcription, while TranscriptionPanda offers a basic rough draft option costing $0.79 per audio minute. We tested using the same 2-minute reading from Richard Louv's Last Child in the Woods. The transcription took 5 days to return, an excessive amount of time considering its brevity. TranscriptionPanda was accurate in its spelling and word choice, as it captured wanted instead of would. Additionally, TranscriptionPanda identified correct sentence breaks and misplaced periods, although it did not capture punctuation such as a missing dash in harp-pressed. The basic service provided by TranscriptionPanda proved to be accurate in our test. TranscriptionPanda has strict privacy policies in place and is committed to protecting your personal information, usernames, passwords, and related data. TranscriptionPanda will only share transcript data if legally required or in response to a subpoena.
