I'm an assistant professor with Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and I'm the track coordinator of the MSN Healthcare Organizational Leadership programs, which include the MSN HOL and the dual degree MSN MBA and the post-master's certificate. I'm so pleased that you are here with us today, and I want to introduce you to two of our amazing and emerging nurse leaders students, Maria Nicholas and Markita Vanzego.

Speaker 2: The Johns Hopkins MSN in Healthcare Organizational Leadership degree is a transformative journey for nurses who aspire to take on leadership roles in healthcare. It equips you with the essential tools to manage, evaluate, and enhance patient care in today's ever-evolving healthcare landscape. One of the many highlights of this program is the mentorship provided by experienced faculty. Towards the end of my program, I transitioned from a bedside nurse into a nurse manager role. The faculty's mentorship plays a pivotal role in helping navigate the complexities of nursing leadership. They support you and prioritize your well-being. Reflecting back, I started this program one month before I had my first child while working full-time and had a second child. To be honest, I'm not sure how I did it, but I know I couldn't have done it without the faculty support. This program's unique feature is that it recognizes that there's no one-size-fits-all playbook for nursing leadership. It focuses on transformation, transforming healthcare, practice, profession, culture, and lives, and it starts with self-transformation. In this program, you'll be challenged to reflect on your own abilities and learn when to sustain traditional practices and when to boldly embrace innovation. Leadership is a deeply personal and lifelong journey that revolves around serving others with compassion and humility. It's about understanding your ability to positively impact and influence healthcare. Speaker 3: Hi, my name is Marquita Van Zegel. I am a graduate student in the School of Nursing's MSN in Healthcare Organizational Leadership and MBA dual degree program. This program has expanded my knowledge regarding the business side of healthcare and how nurses play a vital role in the healthcare system. One highlight of the program is the three practical rotations. I am thoroughly enjoying my clinical rotations with nurse leaders on the micro, meso, and macro levels of the health system. These rotations allow me to witness all that we've learned in theory being placed into practice. Another highlight of the program is how supportive and understanding the faculty has been towards myself and other students. This program serves me in my current nursing role because it provides context and understanding of how and why decisions are made that affect frontline staff and the patients we serve.
