Turn Riverside Recordings Into AI-Edited Social Clips (Full Transcript)

[00:00:00] Speaker 1: I made this clip in about five minutes using Claude and Riverside, and the interesting part is I didn't manually go through the recording, clip the right moment, add captions or anything. I just asked Claude to do it. Riverside can now connect to AI assistants like Claude, Chatubt and other MCP compatible tools, which means your AI can directly access and work with your Riverside content. So in this video, I'm going to show you how to connect Riverside to Claude, create a finished social clip from a recording, and then show you a few other things you can do with it. Let's get started. The setup only takes about a minute and you only have to do it once. Inside Claude, go over to the left side of the screen and click Customize, then open Connectors. Make sure Browse is selected and search for Riverside. Once Riverside comes up, click on it, then click Connect to Claude. That'll open your Riverside login and ask you to authenticate, and that's it. Your Claude account now has access to every Riverside recording, edit, transcript or clip you've ever made. And once that's connected, you're ready to start working. The nice part is that you don't need to learn a bunch of special commands either. You can just describe what you want in plain language. So let's actually make something. I have this recording here in Riverside and I want to turn part of it into a short vertical clip for social media. Instead of manually scrubbing through the entire recording, I can go into Claude and ask it to pull up the recording for me. Pull up my latest Riverside recording. Claude can find the recording and give me a quick recap of what it's about. From there, I can ask, find the three most engaging moments from my most recent recording that would work well as clips for social media up to 90 seconds long. Claude can look through the transcript and give me a few different moments to choose from. So now I can read through those, pick the one I actually like and then tell Claude exactly what I want it to do with it. Turn that moment into a 90 second vertical clip, remove the filler words, add captions and use my podcast branding. And now Claude can actually create that clip inside Riverside. While that's rendering, there's another important part of this workflow. This isn't working from some compressed copy of a recording that you uploaded into an AI tool. The original recording was captured in Riverside locally and up to 4K. So the AI is working with that same high quality source footage you already have in Riverside. And things like your branding are already saved inside Riverside too, so you don't have to explain all of that from scratch every time. Once the clip is ready, Claude gives me a link and I can open it directly in Riverside. I found the moment I selected, turned it into a vertical clip, added captions, cleaned up the audio and applied the branding I already had saved. And I think most importantly, this is now a real asset inside my Riverside account. So I can open it, review it, make changes, adjust anything visually or keep editing it just like any other clip in Riverside. And the workflow doesn't necessarily have to stop after the content is finished. You can also ask the AI assistant to help schedule and publish content. So after creating a few clips, you could say, schedule these clips across YouTube shorts, TikTok and Instagram at the best time for each week. Claude would then search for the optimal posting times for each and actually schedule it in your content planner. So you can open it in Riverside and show that you're scheduled. So you can potentially go from a full recording to a finished clip to something scheduled on your content calendar without having to rebuild that workflow manually every time. But you can also go much further than creating clips. You can give Claude more complex editing instructions that would normally require you to make a lot of individual decisions for yourself. For example, I could say, take this 20 minute recording and edit it down to 10 minutes, removing any excess chatter and tightening it up. That's much more open-ended than something like simply removing filler words or pauses. You're giving Claude the overall goal for the edit and letting it work through the recording. And then I could follow up with something like, find the most engaging wow moment from the entire recording and use it to create a hook for the opening of the episode. Add some light, energetic background music. So instead of making every individual editing decision manually, you can describe the result you're trying to get and then review what it creates inside Riverside. You're still able to come into the editor afterward and fine tune anything you want. The AI can handle a lot of the initial work and you still have control over the finished video. One of the most useful parts of this is that your AI can search across your Riverside transcripts. Let's say I'm trying to find a specific moment I talked about in one of my recordings, but I can't quite remember when or where I actually said it. It could take me literal hours to manually search for that on my own. Instead, for an example, I could ask, when did I talk about the Insta360 Luna Ultra? Or something more interesting like, what was an interesting fact or insight that I mentioned related to the Insta360 Luna Ultra? Just because I know that's a topic I've been interested in making some more content around. In this case, Clog can look across that existing content and help surface the information you're looking for. And you can use the same idea for preparation. You could ask it to review previous recordings and suggest areas you could improve, brainstorm ideas for your next episode, or even help identify guests you haven't talked to about a certain topic yet. And those are just a few examples of what you could do once Riverside is connected to an AI assistant. You could use it to make clips, edit full episodes, search through old recordings, create teaser trailers, repurpose older content, or help automate some of the repetitive parts of your workflow.
