I swear if I have to psych account another near thousand count bottle of tramadol for the third time this week, I'm gonna scream. When I find out who's not exiting their bottles, I'm going to fire them. You know you have no authority to do that, right? You wanna screw around and find out? I really hate having to identify all these loose pills. Guys. You need to stop opening multiple bottles at the same time. Use one up, and then you use the other. Don't use them at the same time. Jeez. Do you happen to know who put the megadose pills on order? Oh, uh, yeah. I did. Why'd you do that? Well, we didn't have any in stock, so I put it on order. Oh. Okay. What is the exact role of an inventory specialist? Oh, that's an easy question. Basically, you take your job way too seriously, and you strike fear into all your coworkers and make them think that you actually own the place. Oh, and how much of a raise do you get? No extra. Really? You don't get anything extra? No. So your position really is no different for me. That's why you gotta get people to fear you. Out of my way, people. I will run you over. I've been here since 4am, and I'm not trying to be here all day. Alright, give me your list. Oh, I don't have the list ready yet. Well, if you don't have the list ready by 3, sorry about your luck. I can have presents for you. Oh, yay. Alright, guys. I'm going on vacation this week, so if I come back and that stock room is a mess, I'm laying a smackdown on every single one of you here. Hey, do you think you can order some more clindamycin? Sorry, it's on back order. Oh, man. That means Ivy Room is going to have to make them. I was in the Ivy Room during the code era. This is nothing. Having to deliver all these fluids all the time is really killing my back. Every single medication in this pharmacy comes through me first. So if you guys can't find it, and I know for a fact it's here, y'all better be looking a lot harder for it. Because if I have to go looking for it, y'all are all going to get by it. Hey, Steven. Do you think you can order some more of those megadose pills? I mean, it shows that we have some, but I don't have any. How much does the inventory say we have? It says we have 300. You checked the overstock? Yes. Do you have someone else check for you? Yes. Did you check every med room in this hospital? Yeah. So what you're telling me is that we have an inventory of 300, but we have no pills on the shelf, and there's not a single pill in this entire hospital? Yes. In my opinion, the inventory specialist has more job duties than any other person in the retail setting. Not only do they have to help with the inventory, but they also got to help with all their regular duties of helping customers, and typing prescriptions, and filling medications as well. And that's just a lot of work on them. And not every store has a lead tech position, so sometimes the inventory specialist has to be the lead tech as well, and that's even more work on them. And the fact that the inventory specialist position doesn't come with any pay raise or any bonuses or anything, that is just so messed up for corporate to be doing that. And it's just like, nobody's going to want to do that, because you're not paying them any extra for doing more work than what anybody else is doing. Inventory is such a vital role in almost any job. Here at the hospital, we don't keep track of inventory, patients don't get their meds. It's very important to keep track of all the inventory that we have. And since this is a large hospital, there's a lot of inventory. So it's good that we have a team that's focused around inventory, that way we're not delaying patient care. And just know, I just work here.
