[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Chappell Roane just dropped her talent agency. In a post on Instagram, she said, As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman. Roane's departure comes after flirtatious emails between Wasserman and convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell were released in the Epstein files. The emails were exchanged more than 20 years ago, while Wasserman was married and before Maxwell's conviction. Maxwell is now serving a 20-year prison sentence for recruiting and trafficking underage girls for sexual abuse by Jeffrey Epstein. In her statement, the Grammy Award winner added, Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity. This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust. Wasserman, who is facing calls to step down from his role as head of the coordinating committee for the 2028 Olympic Games, has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. In a statement to news outlets last week, Wasserman apologized for communications with Maxwell while adding that he, quote, never had a personal or business relationship with Epstein.
