He is underwater with the American people across every issue we tested. His overall approval rating stands at a pretty weak 39% approval. And just remember, less than a year ago, he was getting some of his most positive ratings of his political career. That has all faded. Why? Because of the economy. Listen to some of these numbers. Nearly two-thirds of Americans in this poll say that Donald Trump has not gone far enough to bring down the cost of everyday goods. Only 36% of Americans, a third, say that he's had the right priorities as president. And 55% of Americans, a majority, say that Donald Trump's policies have made the economy worse. As bad as all of that is, the number in this poll that is going to send shivers down the spines of Republicans on Capitol Hill who are on the ballot this midterm year, 29%. That is Donald Trump's approval rating with independent voters in this poll. That is a huge political problem. Now, perhaps the one silver lining, if you can say it's that, the one glimmer of hope for Donald Trump here is that his party is still very unified behind him. Among Republicans, Donald Trump's approval rating stands at 87% support.
