Speaker 1: today I will be taking you through the epic modules so as I mentioned in my last video there are many epic modules within epic which helps with the creation of teams and assigning tasks for specific teams so this is the ASAP module this one deals with inpatient patients so people that have been admitted to the hospital ambulatory is the one where you know patients make appointments and then they come in for like a doctor's visit and things like that that's ambulatory beacon oncology is as it says the name here is oncology so anything to do with oncology will be falling under epic beacon bucks me is infection control this one is just I'm not very familiar with this but it says it's provides tools to monitor patients as a risk for infection identifies patients needing isolation with antimicrobial processes helps with reporting infections to regulatory registries and other entities okay so integrative beaker epic beaker has to do with labs uh anything to do with like pregnancy tests you're in charge of connections from outside systems to epic it uses hl7 interfaces and i believe this is the more technical application or module so if you're very into you know api's and things like that this this would be very rewarding for you and i feel like you can easily transition into this since there's little to no clinical experience for this bones has to do with orthopedics sports medicine I think I mentioned that in my last video already. Epic Caboodle is a data warehouse, very analytical, you can query data here, you can kind of think of it like a SQL. Cadence is the scheduling module for outpatient specialty clinics, so inpatient they don't use Cadence, only outpatient specialty. Epic Care Companion, I'm not sure what this is, an extension to the MyChart patient portal. Health Coaching Education, so I haven't heard of this one yet, so maybe you can look into that if you're interested in that module. Epic Care Everywhere is, I've heard about this when I was teaching at George Washington as a trainer, so Epic Care Everywhere allows for EHR data, so patient's data to be sent from one organization to another organization seamlessly without well you'll have to ask for the patient consent on the receiving end where they just sign their name and then they state that you know they that the data can be transferred to one another so uh if you guys are not familiar with the hospital what you usually have to do is you have to go to the health information management department sign a consent form and then they the hymn department then processes that uh paper form usually i think they're virtual i mean there's online forms up too they they take that form and then they either fax it to um to the other facility that they want to get the health information from and that facility then receives it to the health information management department and that department goes out um and either like emails or sends a message through their EHR to the specialty or whatever whatever information they need and then that's sent back to the health information management department which then sends it back to the specialty like family practice or internal medicine from and from there they can finally see that you know health information that the patient was asking for from this other facility or um sorry other organization so what epic care everywhere does is it makes that seamlessly where it's like i'm the provider i'm look i'm with you with i'm with the patient at the moment and then i there's i see a little um thing saying that this patient has been seen at another epic facility like it can be outside of the organization you click on it then it asks you for like the patient signature if they consent you press yes since they're right with you like the patients right in your office and then that information boom goes back to the organization ask for instantly it literally takes minute maybe like a minute or so but all the data that you're looking for like labs radiology imaging reports things like that it just does it very very fast so this is I think this is gonna be big in the future like I said it doesn't have to be you know from the same organization it can be any organization the only thing that it has to run epic so that's the only downside I guess of it epic compass rose I haven't heard about this but that's okay so these are extensions that's probably haven't heard about it so there's extension to healthy planet which is their health population management module this is pretty cool too I would like to learn more about that epic cosmos is an artificial intelligence tool that works to collect bills and clinical data points for epic organizations to help providers answer clinical questions so I guess you can think think about this like a mini Google of just clinical data you ask it and it collects it and gives it to Chronicles is the main database which runs much of epic software so this Chronicles is it's huge because it's pretty much like the backbone of all of these modules it runs off Chronicles epic clarity I believe this is like reporting and analysis things like that you can create complex reports but this would be used maybe like by business analysts things like that epicare clindoc so this is the inpatient one okay so this is I'm not sure but this should be the okay so epic clindoc inpatient this is the epic module for inpatients and yeah so this is for patients in hospitals the patients have been admitted to hospitals and you can do many of these features inside this module also take clinical notes orders medication administration patient monitoring discharge orders things like that can be done through Epic Care ClinDoc Epic Kohito is another it's well it's a complete suite of Epic reporting tools so yeah that's more about more for data analysis if your data analyst you can easily transfer it to this it's epic community connect this allows for a large health organization to sublet quotation marks the epic system to smaller organization that I beat so let's say they're going to give you the organization it acquires a smaller one and in the meantime they don't want to fully integrate with their own epic system they can just pay for this epic community connect and they'll have access to epic as well which will be like a it wouldn't be the full access but yeah epic cupid so this is the one I'm certified in so it's for cardiology like I mentioned it integrates or interface with external EKG devices to bring the EKG reading to the medical record. There's many other things that it can interface to using HL7 or DICOM messages for imaging in this case. It's pretty interesting actually too. Epic Data Courier. So Epic Data Courier is used to move items or move builds from the proof of concept right which if you're familiar with applications and like software engineering or stuff like that you usually build up what you're trying to create for production in a lower environment most it sounds is like the same data is replicated into many environments so PLC is the lowest environment that's where you will build your approval concept right so make sure it works whatever you're building it's working that's what you do there then it can go to a different environment which is the test environment that you test there and its weight is more the higher up the I guess the more recent data there is and you can kind of test it with better data I want to say better data production is you know what everyone's using so it would be like in an iPhone like if you are building up like updating the software you're not going to do the production right away right because if you mess up everyone's going to going to see those changes and you know it might be hazardous so you might break something on the software so you will do that in the lower environment that's epic data career so this everyone everyone has access to this I believe like all the other modules this is what you use to move your build up to the production environment epic financial assistant module nothing is self-explanatory what it says on on their epic happy together Happy Together enables patients to see their clinical data from multiple locations in one MyChart session. That might be the difference between this and the other one I talked about, Care Everywhere. MyChart is the patient-facing module. So Epic's patient-facing EHR, I guess you could say, or PHR, personal health record. That's what my charting means. Epic Home Health, the Rofty, I think it's pronounced. It's a home health setting for visiting caregivers. There's nurses, PT, OT, document care done in patient's home. this is you know when these clinical providers go to patients home and treat them there take care of them epic hyperspace this is not a clinical module this is the actual um i guess the client the actual client where you're working with um so everyone works in epic hyperspace so all all these modules are within epic hyperspace so right here uh so this is it says epic hybrid scope figure to display different menus tasks options users depending on their specific roles for example a pharmacist will be presented with many medication related options while the family practice physician will be presented with options to document clinical visits place orders so yeah so it's uh like it's saying here is based on the roles of who is signing in to epic so as a pharmacist I'm not going to see my epic you know the way it looks the same as someone that's you know registering a patient it's gonna be different because we all need different tools based on our job role so yeah so that's how epic that's what epic hyperspace is it's just how pretty much how you view epic wherever you are epic haiku is the app android is an android apple app that allows doctors a limited version of epic care ambulatory epic healthy planet is the population management system they use to help the love deliver better care for giving population patients i was to have it established voluntarily and uh sorry which established voluntary volunteer entities called accountable care organizations so ACOs so yeah they're in charge of creating better health outcomes for patients who are enrolled in these accountable care organizations Epic Lumen is for endoscopy endoscopy is they're like a imaging subset a subset of imaging of like kind of like radiology where you can look into so you put a camera inside tube and then you put it down the esophagus and then you can look at you know the internals of the person like it's not radiology but it's images so it's actual pixel images so that's what Lumens is. Healthy Planet link so web-based portal to see patient information for epic systems of a larger organization I'm not sure this is but it looks like it links to health or goodness to log into the web-based portal to see patient information epic kaleidoscope doesn't want to mention yesterday's or is for ophthalmology for eye care epic care link okay so this connects with physicians community patients who do not have epic so it gives the epic link epic care link but allows us providers to have a web-based portal a lot of limited use of epic epic Lucy is not a module it's a concept of allowing patients to download and print their medical record in a usable format epic my chart is the p uh the personal health record uh the one that patients see uh if they want to see uh their labs like the results of their labs or uh or they can even schedule exams from their certain exams from their you know from their phone or a computer you log into MyChart and then you make your appointments things like that that's what MyChart is. MyChart bedside is similar where you can if a patient is admitted to the hospital might need to sign some forms so they will use MyChart bedside then they will fill out the forms there. Epic open scheduling so this allows organizations to publish a web URL that allows anyone to enter a request to be seen the MyChart account is not needed okay so this is for scheduling if a patient doesn't have MyChart access and you can send them a URL they can still send so this link still sorry this link sends schedule information back to epic to schedule these patients epic uptime is operating room surgery module epic so you have experience as a What is it called? Operating room technician things like that. This might be a fit for you This one I want to say is one of the hardest ones to understand in epic But it is very rewarding once you get it Pedigree is a module to capture and analyze genetic information, clinicians can build a family tree, manage family history, so this might have to do with genetically related conditions. Epic Phoenix is a module that supports organ transplants, Prelude is the ADT patient registration, so admission, discharge, transfer, that is all done through Epic Prelude. So yeah, so this module covers the hospital registration, insurance functions, ABT, it also reports to Grand Central. Epic Radar, I'm not sure what this is, honestly, I haven't heard of this one. Epic Radiant is a radiology module that I mentioned about. provides documentation of film tracking view of radiology images like I mentioned last time they don't have their own reading software so what they do is is that the storage of the images is stored in a DICOM based software so Epic does not run DICOM so they don't store images but you can still view them and although the images are read in like a third-party app that information is still sent back to Epic and the doctors can read that information sorry yeah other doctors can view what the other doctor you know read or said on their notes Slicer Dicer is a visual reporting tool with an epic that allows non-technical users to to easily create clinical reports. EpicSonic is a stripped down version of the main app application that's aimed at smaller organizations that cannot afford or don't fully need the full feature version. I didn't know about that, that's pretty cool. Reporting Workbench is an application side reporting solution, which allows IT analysts to create and manage reports on the day for most part of the system. So more reporting, data analysis. Epic Rover is a module that uses mobile devices to allow inpatient nurses to do review and documentation tasks. So if you go to a hospital or organization where you see nurses with iPads, they probably are running Epic Rover on that. STORC is the OBGYN module, obstetrics, gynecology, this is the outpatient side of course. EPIC Tapestry is managed care administration enabling organizations to enroll members to bill for insurance premiums, process referrals, and pay claims. They work within several different payment structures such as ACOs and various other health plans. Epic User Web is not a product used by clinicians, but it's a web portal used by customers with Epic. So this is, we use this a lot, Epic User Web, so on here, if we don't know the answer to something or something breaks and we don't know how to fix it, we can call out for help using Sherlock, which is one of, which is a tab within Epic User Web, and then there, that actually works at epic you know knows the code can help you out on how to fix something uh i picked welcome kiosk lost patient checking appointment oh so this is yeah so this is the kiosk uh some hospitals have already implemented this where patients can check in in a kiosk sign documents pay for co-pays per receive so this might be big in the future since i believe we're moving towards like automated machines doing registering and things like that so this is pretty interesting epic willow is the module for pharmacy so anything of the medications goes through the epic willow application epic wisdom is for dentists actually the dental hygienist has to do with teeth so yeah um if you want to look at more into these uh modules i'm gonna share the link with you guys and if you are still watching i would appreciate if you subscribe if you're still watching i will come up with i'm trying to two videos a week i'm definitely gonna do one video a week starting this week pretty much so yeah thank you everyone and hope you guys have a good one
