Speaker 1: Rode just sent me this particular microphone, the one that you see me talking into right here, and this microphone is the Rode NT-USB microphone. So I've recommended this microphone to a bunch of my consulting clients before just as like a turnkey solution. You can just plug this right into your computer. It sounds great as you can hear right now. This is live, this is not edited. It sounds great, and it's a really good, let's call it slightly higher-end USB microphone solution. So what do I mean by slightly higher-end? So there's a lot of microphones out there that are in the, let's call it $100 range or so in terms of mics. This is gonna be above that in terms of quality, and you're gonna pay a little bit of extra money for it, but I'm sure that you guys can hear the difference in terms of the clarity on this mic and in terms of the just the quality that you're gonna get with this mic and the kind of fullness of the audio. It's got a number of cool features I want to show to you. So first of all, here's the microphone close to me. It's got a pop filter that comes with the kit, which is really, really cool, and it's not one of those kind of gross-looking pop filters that's like a giant circle. It actually fits the mic properly, so this is the way it looks first-person view when you're using this microphone. Really, really good stuff. I love that, and it mounts right here onto the base of the microphone. All of that comes with the kit, which is really, really cool. Also, it's got the adjustable stand that you can put on any stand you want, and as you can see, it's USB connected right here on the bottom of the mic, which is really, really solid. Other features include these controls that are on the side of the microphone where you can plug in headphones. See the headphone jack right here? You can plug in headphones into this microphone, and then you can choose using this dial right here. You can choose how you want the mix to be. So what do I mean by that? So you can choose whether you want to listen to your own audio through the microphone. You can choose whether you want to listen to the other person you're listening to, the gameplay, the video you're editing, the podcast, whatever it may be. You can choose how that mix is with the turn of a knob on the side of the microphone. I like that feature of this microphone. It's really nice to have that on the side rather than having to go into a menu on some software to adjust that necessarily. So I like that. Also, it's got a volume knob on the side so you can change the overall volume of your monitoring with your headphones on this. Here's the stand, by the way. Let me just show you the stand up close so you guys can see. This comes with the kit, by the way. So this is the stand that comes with the microphone, and so you can put the microphone on top of this stand, or you can put it inside of a microphone mount like I have right here. You can kind of decide how you want to do it, but the microphone stand just goes right here in the bottom, and you can put it on your table. The whole point of showing you the stand was to complete that thought from a moment ago. This is a turnkey solution for microphones in a home office space, in a home studio space, taking it on the road, etc. You can use this microphone for all of those applications. So you can put the stand right here on your table, pop your mic in, and have high-quality audio on the go for those Skype calls, Zoom calls, podcasts, YouTube videos, whatever it is that you're doing, the interview you're in, whatever it may be. All of that is possible. Just turnkey with the stand, which is something that I like. But if you have more of like a permanent, if you will, or semi-permanent home studio situation, then of course you're gonna want to get a boom arm to go with it. It comes with a super long USB cable that you can plug into your computer, and I want you guys to know you don't have to use USB 3.0 with this particular mic. You can use USB 2.0 no problem. Because it's an audio signal, it doesn't take that much data, essentially, just because it's audio. You're gonna be able to plug it into any USB jack, essentially. I've got mine plugged into a USB hub, for example, and it works great, as you can hear, through the USB hub. So who is this microphone for, and who is it not for? So there's a couple things that I want to say about the microphone. First things first, for anybody that doesn't want to have to think about audio, or have any expertise with audio, and they just want their audio to sound great, this is gonna be a good solution for you. You just plug it in, and it just works. Comes with the stand, you can literally plop it on your desk, and it works. Cool? So if you're that type of person, buy this microphone, okay? If you're somebody who just wants the entire audio interface in one unit, buy this microphone. It's great for that application. Who is this microphone not for? So I would tell you guys that have really echoey rooms, and echoey space, this would not be the microphone for you, if you have an echoey room.
