[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Educational content like tutorials and demos are some of the most important content that you can make. Not just because they help users use your product correctly, but it also helps people feel more comfortable and feel more supported as they're using your product. And that means that they can use it to its full advantage. So it really helps take care of your community. My name is Kendall, I'm the head of community at Riverside, and I do our tutorials and demos for Riverside all the time. So let me show you exactly how I do it. The first thing that I do when I'm doing tutorials and demos is at first I do a clean shot of just me in camera, like I just did, explaining exactly what I'm going to be demoing, just so that it's clear right up front what people can expect from the video. And then in another tab, I already have ready whatever I'm going to screen share to show exactly how to use the product. And the great part about Riverside here is that when I'm screen sharing, it's going to be all in high quality as well, saved locally as its own separate track. So if I want to do things like zoom in, I can do that really easily, and it'll still maintain that high quality so that all of your users can see exactly what you're demoing. I have my own studio where I keep all of my demo videos, just to keep it all organized. So here are all the things that I've demoed, and I just want to jump into one of them. So let's jump into this. Let's say that this is what I just recorded. Over here on the recordings tab, you're going to see that you have my track and you have that HD screen share as well, as well as the transcript. So under made for you, you can see that you already have a cut version, the magic episode of that demo that I just showed. One thing that I want to recommend that you do is that because these demo videos are usually for your brand or your company, you're going to want to make sure that you have that personalized tab over here and you have that branding. So over here, you can add your logo, you could add your company colors, and you can add an intro and outro if you'd like, and make sure that it's all in that branding that you'd like for your company videos to have. So let's say that I want to add a color here. I could just put in a hex code or I can choose from right over here, and I can set all of my textiles. Let's say that my text, I want it to be intermedium over here. I want it to be white for this. The brand colors will be set right over here. And you can also set the design, like the corner radius, all of that stuff that you can set with your design team or any other stakeholders for the project. I'm going to show you how I do it from scratch. Without any of these AI tools, I'm just going to go over here and press edit to jump into my editor. And so first thing I'm going to do when I'm in my editor is I'm going to go over here to my brand. I'm going to apply my brand over here. So that can include your logos and your color scheme. But I'm also going to go over into my timeline and you'll see that it gives you a few suggestions. So for example, I don't start my videos perfectly. I'll probably start them a few times until I get that first intro correct. So you could see here that it's highlighted and added a comment that the section right over here is me repeating myself. I'm trying to do that intro a few times. So I'm actually going to accept this edit and it'll delete all of those kind of start and goes that I have in the beginning. And you can go through and accept any of those edits or decline them or just ignore them. It's up to you. Then as I go through over here, I am going to start with that full screen as you see and then I want to go right into that screen share. So you can see over here. I had a little bit of quiet where I starting my screen share. I'm going to delete that and then right over here, you could see that the scene changed. Maybe I want to have the scene change a little bit sooner. I can drag that forward or backward. Let's have it start right here. But over here on the scene, you could see that you can't see the screen share as much as I'd like for you to. So under layout, I'm just going to click right here. I'm going to choose this one and I'll have my box be a little bit smaller on the side. I can change that if I'd like change where it is on the screen. Then there are some times where I'm talking or maybe I have a cut. So let's say that over here. I stumbled on my words a little bit and I want to have a bit of a cut. What I'll sometimes do to cover that up is I'll click right here. I'll add a scene and I'll have myself go full screen for a little bit and on this scene specifically, I'll go solo speaker. So I do some of those cuts and if I want to also I can have my screen share zoom in on different moments. I am going to drag my playhead to exactly where I want that to go. Click the canvas and press animation and then I'm going to add a zoom and pan. So you'll see at the bottom right here. You can see this line that is where your zoom and pan is going to start and end and I want this one to be pretty abrupt. So I'm going to make it very short and over here on the canvas, you're going to see where it starts and then over here where it ends. So I want it to be 200 let's say and I want to drag it to show right over here really close on my screen share. Then I'm going to press done. So let me show you how that looks. And you can see that it's zoomed in exactly where I'd like it to go. You can also go into your playhead again, press the zoom and pan and I'm going to go back out so you can see my full screen again. So I'm going to start at this 200 and end at 100 again to go back to my normal screen share and so it'll look like this. And so that's just how I emphasize some points that I'm showing during my demos. Then you're just going to go through your video and make sure that everything is clear that everything can be seen perfectly no matter where your mouse is. Make sure that you on the screen right here are not covering up anything. And if you are you can always again add a scene and then for this one, maybe I want to move myself over to here and then you could see that it moves me to the other side. Then once my whole demo is complete, I like to add some of the fancier elements. So besides that zoom and pan here are a few other things that I do. I go right to the front of my demo and I like them to open the same way every time. So I'm going to press scene right over here and there are some templates. So for example, we have this coming up one and so over here I can write demo tutorial or whatever I'd like that to be and it already has an animation for the in and out. I can also click and drag that for as long as I'd like that to show up. So for this one, you could see that it kind of fades away. I also like to have my name appear during my videos. So I'm going to click scene right over here and you could see that we have these templates. So I'm going to choose again a template that has my name and I'm going to change it to Kendall Brightman and head of community. Great. But let's say that I want to make this scene my own and I want to use it every time I do one of these tutorials. Let's say for example that I want this to be larger font. Let's say that I want it to kind of fly in instead of from up. I want it to go in from the right. Great. So what I'll do now is I'll click on the scene, press scene under my scenes. I'm going to save this one and let's name it name fly in. So then anytime that I create another video, let's say that over here. I want to show that again. I can just press name fly in and all of those settings are saved. So it makes it really easy to create that kind of uniformity between each one of your demo videos and create that brand language within your videos. So highly recommend you using either those templates or saving your own scenes because it really helps create that kind of custom look that you want for your demos and tutorials. Then once I'm done, I just do one scan over the content, make sure that it's all perfect and then I press export. And so that's how you can create some really professional educational videos for your product and your brand and you could do it easily yourself. So you just record screen share and get that high quality output that you need so that your users can feel educated on your product and be able to use it better and smarter. So those are the simple steps and I can't wait to see what you create with it. Tag us in your educational videos and I hope this video helped you use Riverside for those demo and tutorials videos for your brand.
