+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Today we have some big announcements for podcasters. First we are launching Descript Rooms, our integrated collaborative recording studio. Reliable 4K multitrack recording, an effortless guest experience, and seamlessly integrated into Descript's precision editing suite. Second because we know that most podcasters record with Zoom, we're launching a Zoom integration that lets you import multitrack Zoom sessions in a click. Finally, we're shipping an all new automatic multicam feature that intelligently switches between multicam layouts using your branded templates. Let me show you how this all comes together with a quick walkthrough of what it's like to make a podcast with Descript from recording to editing and publishing. To do it, I'm going to hand it over to Ashley who works here and is also a podcaster. She's going to show you how she uses these new features.
Speaker 2: Hi, I'm Ashley. When I make a podcast with other people, I want a high quality multitrack recording because that makes editing way easier. Now that we have Rooms, I can go to Descript.com and I've got a collaborative multitrack recorder that's right there in my workflow. I just open up a room by clicking here. My room has a persistent link and my co-host already has it. I'll email it to my guest now. Through the magic of staged demos, let's take a look at my guest receiving the link and then effortlessly joining the room. Recording in Rooms is way higher quality than your typical Zoom recording. Everyone's recording individual 4K camera feeds on their computer and progressively uploading them to Descript. So you get multitrack recording that won't glitch out if you have connection problems. Okay, the conversation is over. So I hang up and now I open the project in Descript where in seconds, I'll see my recording transcribed with speaker labels. No importing. The recording is just there automatically. And over here, my AI assistant editor Underlord is ready to suggest a number of actions. Let's see. I'll definitely add chapter markers. I'm not going to remove ums and uhs because I like making those adjustments myself, but I will run edit for clarity so it finds any particularly rambly parts of the podcast and suggests places to tighten things up. I can then review Underlord's suggestions and decide which cuts I want to keep. Now I'll run Automatic Multicam, another new Descript feature. So at the most basic level, what this does is it's going to switch layouts when the speaker changes and it's going to go through and create scenes. And if there's a lot of back and forth dialogue, it'll switch to the multicam layout for some reaction shots. This saves me so much time. I don't have to go through and painstakingly change the scenes myself. The AI already knows which speaker I want to highlight. And of course, I can always go in after Automatic Multicam and add my own tweaks based on where I want to hide jump cuts and just generally how I think it should look. Because I'm the creator here, not the AI. Okay, so now that I've got visuals, Underlord has one more suggestion for me. Studio sound. My guest ignored my pleas not to use Bluetooth earbuds, but studio sound will make it sound like they're on a professional mic anyway.
Speaker 1: I've been rejected by every academic publication in my field. And I've never once been invited to a faculty happy hour.
Speaker 2: Now the great thing about Descript is that it isn't just the AI stuff. It's a precision multitrack editor. So I can pop open the timeline and edit out crosstalk, add music or mid-roll segments, cut it up and merge it with other recordings. Really everything you need to make a polished, professional sounding podcast. Now Descript is obviously really proud of our new collaborative recorder, Rooms. But let's say, like a lot of podcasters, I do my recording in Zoom. Because it's reliable and my guests already know how to use it. Well, you know what? If that stuff matters more than the 4K multitrack stuff, you're in luck. Because Descript is now integrated with Zoom. It can now be your go-to editor for Zoom recordings. I just connect Descript to Zoom, open a project and find the recording I want. Descript will automatically set up my project with all my tracks aligned to sequences so I'm ready to edit. And that's it. However I want to record, I'll be ready to edit in Descript pretty much as soon as I hit stop. Which I love, both as a podcaster and as someone who works here.
Speaker 1: Thanks Ashley. So that's our big release for podcasters. By adding Rooms and a Zoom integration, we've made it simpler than ever for you and your guests to record. And Automatic Multicam gives you a professional visual edit in seconds instead of hours. So check it out now and stop by our Discord server and say hello if you want to share feedback. Thanks.
