Speaker 1: Hello, everyone. Welcome back to my channel, Jennifer Marie, where I teach you different freelancing tips. Today, I'm going to show you a website where you can convert video and audio files to text automatically for free with no signup required. There are unlimited transcriptions for free and the website supports MP3, WAV, MP4, and MOV files. So we're going to use AI Transcriptions by Riverside. All you have to do is click on the link in the description below or in the pinned comment to access this website or go to riverside.fm slash transcription. You can see it's super accurate in over 100 languages and is powered by the latest AI technology. So all you have to do is drag and drop a file to transcribe it or just click upload a file. You do not have to sign up in order to use this feature. We're going to transcribe a few different files so I can show you how quickly it works. First, I'm going to drag and drop an MP4 file. This video file is 10 minutes long. I'm going to select the language it's in then click that I am a human and then click start transcribing. So the file will first upload and that took around a minute to upload and now Riverside is transcribing the file. You can see that transcription times can vary depending on the file size, length of the content, and how busy their servers are. So just be patient. So you can see that Riverside is transcribing this file very quickly. It's just going through and transcribing the entire file in pieces and just like that it has finished. So because we have not created an account with Riverside it's very important that from here you click on download and then you can download a transcript which is the txt file or a captions file srt. So let's just download the transcript file by clicking on that. So you can see here we have the entire transcript that we've downloaded from Riverside and it has included punctuation and also capitalization. Of course, this has not been split into paragraphs so that's something you would have to do yourself. We could also download it as an srt file or a captions file by clicking on the captions button and when we open up this file you can see that we have subtitles that are also time stamped. We can also click here on copy to clipboard and then you could go into Microsoft Word or Google Docs and then ctrl v or ctrl shift v and this gives you a copy of the transcript just how you see it in Riverside. Another thing I want to note is that if you upload your file and it's uploaded but it's taking forever to transcribe there might be a server issue or a website issue so I recommend just refreshing the page and uploading the file again. The first time I did this it was taking a really long time to transcribe so I just refreshed the page and tried again and then it took under two minutes to transcribe the entire 10 minute file. So now we're going to do another demo with a longer file. You can click here on transcribe another file and then make sure you've downloaded your transcripts before starting a new one. So I'm going to click on transcribe another file. Transcribe now and I'm going to upload this mp3 file which is over 45 minutes long. Once again select the language. You can see here there are many different languages to choose from. In my case it's English. Select I am a human and then start transcribing. So first it's going to upload the file and after that it will begin the transcription process. So you can see here that it is transcribing the file. I started uploading this five minutes ago. It took two minutes to upload the entire file and then it took a few minutes to begin transcribing. So just be patient with it and I'm amazed at how quickly it has almost transcribed this entire file. You can see we're at 46 minutes. It's just finishing up now and again there is capitalization, there's punctuation. It's really incredible just how quick this tool is and I just can't believe that it's free. So this has finished transcribing. It took around six minutes total both to upload the file and to transcribe it. And anyone who has tried to do manual transcription will know that to transcribe a 47 minute long file would normally take someone more than two hours. So this is a game changer. And now all you have to do is click download to download a copy of your file as we did previously or just click copy to clipboard to copy and paste it into Google Docs or Microsoft Word. Now we're going to try using this website from your phone. Many people don't have computers or they just need to quickly transcribe a file that they have on their mobile phone. So once again go to the same website as before to click on transcribe now. Then you're just going to click on the plus icon and upload your file. So the file will begin to upload. In this case I did a video file and once it's uploaded Riverside will begin to transcribe the file. And this file once again only took a few minutes to transcribe and to upload and it worked perfectly. So once again you click on download to download the subtitle file or the transcript or you can click on copy and then paste it into the text editor of your choice. So this is an amazing option for those of you who do not have computers or if you just quickly need to transcribe something from your phone and don't have time to go on your computer. Now if you want to transcribe files that are longer than an hour I do recommend you use free software such as Audacity to split your audio or video files. If you split these into hour-long segments it won't take as long to transcribe them. I tried transcribing a two-hour file using Riverside and I was having some issues so splitting this into two files or hour-long files may help you have better results. If you want tutorials on splitting audio or video files let me know in the comment section as well. And if you have a file format that Riverside does not accept you can use a free software like VLC Player to convert audio or video files as well and that way you'll be able to upload your converted file and use this website. Now if you are comfortable using a computer and you want a more foolproof way of transcribing I have a video on how to use OpenAI's Whisper. You can download my free ebook by clicking on the link in the description below and I also have linked you to my tutorial step-by-step on how to use Whisper to transcribe your audio and video files for free. So if you guys have any questions whatsoever make sure to ask me in the comment section below and I hope you enjoy using this website. Thanks for watching and I'll see you all in my next tutorial.
