Speaker 1: So once you step out of your house and step out of your comfort zone it can sometimes get difficult to take care of yourself and manage all the responsibilities yourself okay. In that case it's necessary to have some basic skills know some basic things which will help you to take care of all those responsibilities. Today in this video we will discuss about things which you would need to learn before you start your journey to studying abroad. Stay tuned. Hey Jallies. What you doing? Welcome to Jalli Time. I hope this video will be helpful to all of you who are going to start new endeavors in life or education or career or anything when there is no one to guide you. Never fear Jalli is here. So what are you waiting for? Subscribe right now and join the Jalli Club. Free membership. So today I'm going to explain you five things which you should learn before you start your journey. I mean you can also learn them afterwards but better now than later right. I'm feeling extremely compelled to say the world-famous Kabir's Doha. Kaal kareso aaj kar, aaj kareso ab. Number one learn to cook. Why I say learn to cook is because food is a basic necessities of life okay you need food and if you don't know how to cook what do you do? You buy from outside right. Common sense. But if you buy from outside the food is neither healthy nor economical. So what do you do? You cook. Hey I'm not saying you learn to become the master chef or khansama okay. Just basic things you know rice, dal, sabzi you know that you eat every day like basic stuff. You don't even need to learn the you know the hi-fi stuff. Wo dheere dheere ho jayega. But the basic stuff. Now you would say who doesn't know to make rice right. But you can make million mistakes in making rice. Maybe you put more water maybe you put the cooker for more number of whistles maybe you put less water and burn the rice. You know there are so many mistakes that you can do. So learn it and your best source your mommy. Learn from her and I'm telling you she will be the most happiest person to teach you how to cook. Number two learn to understand legal paperwork. You know when you're all alone you're signing some lease you are filing tax returns and those kind of things those legal paperwork those instructions can be really intimidating and you don't understand what to do because you're not familiar with all those terminology all those language that they use in those documents. It's really scary okay for the first-timers. So you should have some familiarity of how it is done. Basic rules. You can always learn them from the instructions but you should have the patience to learn them. You should have the patience to go through all these big huge instruction documents right. And the lease papers are so big but you don't need to get unnerved by anything okay. And whenever you're signing something make sure you read through the entire document. You just don't sign blindly and just don't trust anybody just like that right. Just have some common sense and just go through it. If you don't know something if you don't understand something ask somebody whom you can trust you know. That's the best way but it's always good to have some basic starting point of how you can manage paperwork that will give you the understanding you know that will give you which points you should look for that will help you to understand how exactly you calculate your taxes. How exactly you find out how much you are owing for rent and for utilities and all those things. Make sure you have some experience you know little bit okay. That's all. Number three learn to be independent. Somehow independence is one of the basic elements I find missing in a lot of people. I don't know it's because they have never had a chance to be independent or they just don't want to and they just think that it is too much difficult to take your own decisions. I will just depend on other people but when you're alone you need to take your own decisions. You need to be independent. If you're not independent you will tend to follow other people and you don't really want that. For example oh everyone is taking this course I'll also take that course. No don't do that. You take a course if you really want to take a course. You take a course if you feel that that will help you enhance your career make you learn something you know boost your resume. Think logically and take your own decisions. Do not follow other people. Just do not be part of the herd. Number four money management. Now you need to learn to manage your money. If you don't you will never understand where the money goes away. I am still learning and I totally believe that money management is something should be taught in schools but we don't. Now before you go out on your own you have some pocket money that your parents give and you know you can spend all of it. You don't really have that burden to you know save something but now when you're on your own you have all the money and you have to learn how to budget your stuff. Otherwise you will never know where the money goes and then you'll be all done and you have to ask money to parents all the time and you don't want that. So learn some budgeting tips. Learn to manage your money. I have some budgeting videos which I think will help you. I will link them here. Number five learn to ask for stuff. Now this is another thing people take for granted. I don't understand why. They never ask things for themselves. They never stand for themselves. You need to learn to ask for yourself. You need to learn to stand for yourself. Otherwise people will take you for granted. Let's assume you have a roommate who is constantly borrowing money from you whenever you go outside to buy stuff or go outside to eat or anything like that and you don't ask it back. That's not going to work. You have to ask it back. Otherwise your roommate is always gonna take advantage of you. That's not how it is. You have to stand for yourself. You have to ask it. I'm not saying you go and fight or say something rude or anything. You can ask it very politely. Just take a stand for yourself. If you don't stand for yourself nobody else is going to. You are in control of your life. Take the command. You have it. Take the command. You are the captain. You have the decision to make. You have to stand for yourself. All the best. Alright guys that's all I got for you today. I hope you liked this video and I hope these tips will be helpful for you in your life. So don't forget to give this video a big thumbs up and share it with your friends and subscribe to my channel for more and I will see you next week. Same time, same place. Watch me. Love and Peace.
