Speaker 1: Amanichannel, this is WebVideoChefs.com and in this recipe, I'm gonna go over the steps that you should take before you actually record a Skype interview, talking about a video interview. All right, so let's go to Skype, first of all, should already be opened. All right, now I'm gonna go to Preferences. I'm on a Mac, but if you're on a PC, you should also be able to get to the Preferences, though I'm not exactly sure how you do it. Anyways, we'll go to Audio, Video, all right? And now we'll see a few things here. We'll see this little window pop up, which is an example of what the video will look like. And then we also have, you'll see the VU meters, all right? A few things you always wanna check. For the microphone, make sure the proper source is selected. So in this case, I'm using the Duet, and it'll show up here. If I was using another microphone or the built-in microphone, it would, of course, show, and you can, of course, toggle through it. But I'll just go ahead and use the Duet. I'm just gonna adjust the volume here, the volume is fine, the levels look nice and strong. All right, then also, you can toggle through the different webcams if you do have another webcam set up, but this is the built-in eyesight that we're using now. All right, so once you have all that set up, take a look at the image in the picture, all right? In this case, a few things that I noticed. First of all, my face is rather dark, and then you can see this closet, which is open in the background. There's a window, I'm sorry, there's a light coming from the closet, which is a little bit distracting because it kinda creates that silhouette effect called backlighting. And so, what I wanna do, first of all, is I have a little table lamp set up here, so I will go ahead and turn that towards my face, and then turn it on. You can see right away that it helps. This popper stopper's still creating quite a shadow on my face, but it's not too bad. And then I'll go ahead and close the closet. All right, so that looks a lot better now, doesn't it? The last thing I wanna talk about is headphones, because it's always important to use headphones during a Skype interview, because you don't want your audio feeding back from your computer through the microphone. So, I have a couple of headphones that I use, but I like these because they're really inconvenient. I don't know if you can see, but I have a couple of headphones that I use that I use to record my voice, and then I also have a couple of headphones that I use to record my voice, and then I also have a couple of headphones that I use to record my voice, and then I also have a couple of headphones that I use to record my voice, because they're really inconspicuous and they fit snugly in my ear. I don't know if you can see them here. And so, I will just clip them on. They're not the big, bulky headphones that you may see on other interviews that you've probably seen online. All right, so I will put them in here. And then after that, you can close down the preference window, and you can go ahead and make your Skype call. All right, hopefully this was helpful.
