[00:00:00] Speaker 1: AI Credits power the Firefly's features that do the work for you. Here's how they work, what's free, and how to stay in control. First, what's always free? Recording, transcription, and your meeting summaries never use AI Credits. Neither do recap emails, tasks, or the regular AskFred inside a meetings notebook. Credits pay for the AI that does work for you. That's AI Skills, your daily brief, CRM autofill, and AskFred Pro, which searches across all your meetings. Live Assist, Email Assistant Drafts, the Slack Assistant, and Voice Agents use them too. Here's the difference in a meeting. Regular AskFred answers questions about this one meeting, for free. Switch on AskFred Pro, and it works across many meetings and your connected apps, which uses Credits. It stays on until you switch it off. Not every action costs the same. A quick question during a live call uses a small fraction of a credit. An AI Skill or a CRM autofill on one meeting uses around one. Bigger jobs, like AskFred Pro digging through dozens of meetings, or a long voice agent call, use more. The more work the AI does, the more credits it uses. Every plan starts with a one-time set of credits, shared by your whole team. Those included credits don't refill each month. And right now, you can't set limits per user. To see where your credits go, open Settings at the bottom of the left menu, then click AI Credits. Admins can see usage by feature and by teammate. So, what is auto-upgrade? On a paid plan, when your included credits run out, Fireflies moves you to the smallest credit package. For example, 50 credits for $5 a month. If you already have a package and run out, you move up to the next one. Want a hard limit instead? In Settings, open Billing. In the AI Credits section, click Edit, then Edit Subscription. Switch off auto-upgrade and click Update. When your credits run out, those features simply pause until the next cycle. The same window changes your package. Choose Monthly or Annual Billing, where Annual saves 20%. Drag the slider to the credits you need, then click Update. To cancel, go back to Billing, click Edit in the AI Credits section, and choose Cancel Subscription. Share a reason, click Continue, and Confirm. Your Fireflies plan stays exactly the same, and your credits keep working until the end of the billing period. Credits going faster than expected? Open AI Skills in the left menu. Skills like the Daily Brief run on a schedule, so switch off any you don't need. One last tip. Purchased credits reset every billing cycle and don't roll over, so pick the package that fits a normal month. The full guide is linked below. Got a question? Ask us in the Fireflies community. Arow Summary
Fireflies AI Credits are used for advanced AI features that perform work, while core meeting features remain free. Recording, transcription, meeting summaries, recap emails, tasks, and regular AskFred within a single meeting do not consume credits. Credits are used by AI Skills, Daily Brief, CRM autofill, AskFred Pro, Live Assist, Email Assistant Drafts, Slack Assistant, and Voice Agents. Usage varies by workload: quick live questions use fractions of a credit, while AI Skills and CRM autofill typically use about one credit per meeting, and larger cross-meeting searches or long Voice Agent calls use more. Each plan includes a one-time, team-shared credit allocation that does not replenish monthly, and per-user limits are not currently available. Admins can review usage in Settings > AI Credits. Paid-plan users are auto-upgraded to the smallest or next credit package when included credits run out unless they disable auto-upgrade in Billing. Disabling it creates a hard limit, pausing credit-based features until the next cycle. Users can modify packages, choose monthly or annual billing with 20% annual savings, or cancel without affecting their Fireflies plan. Purchased credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. Scheduled AI Skills, such as Daily Brief, should be turned off if unnecessary to prevent unexpected usage.

Arow Key Takeaways
  • Core features such as recording, transcription, summaries, recap emails, tasks, and regular single-meeting AskFred are free and do not use credits.
  • Advanced AI features—including AI Skills, AskFred Pro, CRM autofill, Live Assist, assistants, and Voice Agents—consume credits.
  • Credit usage scales with the amount of AI work: simple live questions cost less, while cross-meeting searches and long voice calls cost more.
  • Included credits are a one-time, team-shared allocation and do not refill monthly; user-level spending limits are not currently available.
  • Admins can monitor feature and teammate usage in Settings > AI Credits.
  • Auto-upgrade purchases a larger credit package after credits run out; it can be disabled in Billing to impose a hard limit.
  • Purchased credit packages reset each billing cycle and do not roll over, so scheduled AI Skills should be reviewed regularly.
