Speaker 1: Hey y'all, so Instagram has just released a new feature that will allow you to easily auto-caption your Instagram stories. So in this video, I'm gonna show you exactly how to use it. It's the caption sticker. And then I'll also show another way to easily auto-caption any video in case you want more flexibility that the auto-caption sticker doesn't provide here. Quick note, we are building a community of modern creators and we would love you to be a part of it. So if you want to join and officially become a Kapwinger, hit that subscribe button and notifications bell. And now let's get into the video. So to add auto-captions to your Instagram stories and or any other video, you can head first to the Instagram app and this feature works in the stories part of the app. So click the top left corner where you can make a story and you'll be able to see that at the bottom, it says story, so you're in story mode. Now you can either film a video or upload an existing video and then add the auto-captions onto that. One big thing though is that this only works, this auto-captions feature only works for videos that are 15 seconds or less. So if you're trying to do a video that's longer than that or you want more customization options, keep watching for the second part of this video where I go over another tool to you add auto-captions easily. So you can either click the bottom left corner and choose a video to add the auto-captions to or you can just record a video right now. So I'm gonna do that. To record, just press the bottom white icon and hold it down. Write, hi, Grace, in the comments if you get to this part of the video. We have our regular options at the very top for the things we can add to our story, like text and adjust the sound. But the stickers button is the one you're looking for. So it's the third one from the left, the little smiley square Post-it note thing. And you're gonna search in the bar for captions. So I already used this feature recently. So this is what the sticker looks like. Click that and it will immediately start transcribing your audio. There's different styles at the bottom for how they show up and look on the screen as well. So explore that. You can also choose a color for the text and the top with a rainbow and explore those different options. You can also adjust the size of the captions by using two fingers and dragging outwards or move them on the screen. Now, I already have, see, I have a typo in these captions. So if you wanna edit any part of the words, click them and they will show up vertically like this. And then you can just click the word you wanna edit and write a better version for it. So there we go. If you're happy with your captions, then you can just click the Send To button to post it to your story as normal. Or if you wanna download the video, click that button, the first icon in the top bar with the little down arrow and then it will save to your camera roll. Another cool feature that is basically taken from Threads, the other Instagram app, is that it will bleep swear words that you say and you can also add custom bleeps to the text. So I'm gonna show you an example. So I swore in this video and as you can see, it is bleeping it out in the text but also the sound of the video. And if you want to add your own bleeped out word, you can just click the text and then click the word you wanna bleep and click that plus bleeps in the bottom left-hand corner. So while the styles for the captions in this feature on Instagram are pretty interesting and unique, the feature has a lot of limitations. The 15-second video limit for captions is a pretty big one and the styling options are not ideal. So another option for adding automatic captions to your videos, you can try out Kapwing, which works on any device. It works in your browser, no app downloads. You can do this on your phone or computer or tablet and it will allow you to customize your captions a lot more than Instagram and make longer videos with captions. To get to Kapwing, head to the first link in the description below or just click the link above and start a new project. You can either upload a video that you already have on your device or you can paste the link to one. I'm just going to upload it from my photo library. It will load into the editor and then at the top, you have a bunch of different things you can add to your video, like text and images and audio and then also the subtitles button. So you're gonna click the subtitles button, scroll all the way down and there should be an auto-generate button there. Click that and this is where you can choose what to auto-generate to. So if you wanted to translate your video into another language, you can click that box and select your language. I'm just gonna have the captions in English because I'm speaking English and I'm gonna click the auto-generate button. It'll take a few moments to load the subtitles in and then your captions will be on the video. So if you scroll down, you'll be able to see each line of captions that are appearing on screen and the time that they're associated with. And if you want to edit the actual words, just click into that line of captions and type out what you want it to say instead. You can drag the ends of the purple bar here to adjust when you want that caption to be on the screen. Then if you go up here, you can adjust the appearance of these captions. Do things like change the text, change the size of the text and other features. Once you're happy with them, click the done button at the bottom and then make any other edits you want here and then click the red export video button. It will take a few moments for your video to finish up and once it's done, you'll be taken to this page. If you see a small watermark in the corner, you can remove that for free just by signing in and then click download to save the video to device. Click download again if you're on iPhone, click the top right corner and click your project and then the bottom left corner and click save video. And now that project will be in your camera roll. Thanks for watching this video. As I said earlier, we are building a community of modern creators and we'd love for you to join us. So make sure to hit that subscribe button to become an official Kapwinger. Give this video a like and also comment any questions, feedback or thoughts you may have and we'll see you in the next one.
