Speaker 1: They've sent you a voice message, an audio, via WhatsApp, but you can't listen to it at the moment? We'll show you how to convert audio into text. WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app. We all use it, and there's practically no day that we don't use it to talk to our friends, family, to join a group of chats that we have. And on WhatsApp, we also share text messages, images, videos, documents, and, of course, audio notes or voice messages. Audios are loved and hated equally, because, on the one hand, they're not very useful to explain something quickly, without having to spend a lot of time writing, but, on the other hand, we don't always feel like listening to them, especially when they're very long, and, above all, because sometimes we're not in a condition to listen to an audio, either by bringing the phone closer to our ear, or with the speaker of the phone. Sometimes we're in class, we're in a meeting, and we can't play an audio. Therefore, until we listen to it, we don't know what they're saying to us. However, there's a way to find out what they're saying to us in those audios, by converting them into text. By default, audio recognition is not available on WhatsApp, although it wouldn't be strange if you integrated it into your own app in the future, but there are tools and utilities that allow us to convert those audios into text to be able to read them without having to play the sound. So we're going to see a couple of totally free apps, both for Android and WhatsApp on the iPhone, that allow us to convert audios into text. Remember that in the description you'll find the link to download these apps. To convert audios into text in Android, our favorite app is called Transcriber. You can find it as Transcriber for WhatsApp in Google Play, as you can see here, Transcriber for WhatsApp. It's a super simple app, as you'll see now. Once installed, you don't have to do anything, although in the settings, if we go in, we see that we have to choose the language we use, that is, the language in which the audios will be, but imagine that if you normally use WhatsApp and talk to people from other countries and receive audios in English, in German or whatever, we can choose that they ask us the language before transcribing the audio. In our case, we're going to leave it, because we only use Spanish. And lastly, here we also have options to automatically save a transcription history that will appear at the beginning of the app. How does this app work? Well, we go to WhatsApp and we enter a group or a chat that has audio messages. In this case, I have a chat with myself and as you can see here, we have audio, which if we play it... This is a voice message test on Android to see how it is automatically transcribed. That audio says what you have heard, that I have played it so you can see how the transcription works, although it is not mandatory to play it beforehand. We are in a case in which we are in class or at work and we cannot play the audio. How do we transcribe it? We press the message, we keep it pressed, the voice message, and we go to the share button, the button to always share natively on Android, and here our applications will appear and we press on Transcriber, that is, we share the voice message with Transcriber. We press and look at what happens. Automatically on WhatsApp, a new interface appears. As you can see, a little advertising appears because it is a free application, but with advertising. And here the transcribed message appears. What I said in the audio, this is a voice message test on Android to see this, this, this, this. The same with the next one. If we go back, advertising comes out again, as I said, because it is free, but if we go back to WhatsApp and translate the next message, we keep it pressed, we go to the share button, we share with Transcriber, and automatically, testing the audio transcriber on Android. And that's what I say in the audio. Testing the audio transcriber to text on Android. Indeed. In the application, in Transcriber, we have a history of translations, of transcriptions, rather, that, as you can see, we can see them at any time or we can delete them if we don't want to have that transcription in the history. To transcribe audio messages to text on the iPhone, we have to download this application called Audio to Text for WhatsApp. It is available for free on the App Store and when we open it, what we find is a super simple application that only has one configuration, as we see here, which is to choose our language, the language in which the audio message will be. In our case, we choose Spanish, but, for example, if they send us an audio message that is in English, we would simply have to change the language here. At the beginning, the only thing we have is the instructions on how it works, which is what we are going to see now. And as you can see here, it not only works for WhatsApp, also for audio messages from Telegram, from Line, and even to transcribe our voice notes that we have recorded with the iPhone's own recording application. To use it, we simply go to WhatsApp and enter a group or a chat that has an audio message. In this case, we are going to test it with audios that I have sent to myself, but it would be exactly the same if they have sent us audios. Well, simply, in an audio message, we hold down and we click on Re-send. And here we click on the native icon of Re-send from iOS and we look for this option, which is Audio to Text. If that icon appears, we click on the three dots and here we have to activate the Audio to Text option. We simply activate it, we click on OK, and that icon will appear. Once it appears, simply, as we have said, we select the message, we click on Share, and we share to Audio to Text. And automatically, look at what happens. The application will open and translate that audio message to us. Hi, I'm Pedro from Android Libre. What did I say in the audio message? If we play it... Hi, I'm Pedro from Android Libre. As you can see, this application is transcribing the audio that I have sent via WhatsApp. And the next audio would be... Simply, you have to share the audio with the application and it will automatically start. As you can see, if I click on Re-send the message to Audio to Text, automatically, it has transcribed the audio into a text. We read it and that's it. The application has no more mystery. Finally, remember that these applications act with voice recognition and, therefore, the final result of the transcription will depend on the quality of that audio. If we send or receive an audio that has a cut-off voice or that has a regular pronunciation, it is likely that we will find texts with errors that do not fit directly to the audio that has been sent to us. But even if it is not an exact and perfect transcription, it will probably help us to see what they wanted to tell us in that audio message without having to listen to it. So, this type of application is a very interesting utility that does not cost anything to have installed and surely, at some point, we can use it. And nothing else, if you liked this video, give it a like and if you have any suggestions for new videos or any trick you want us to explore, you can leave it in the comments. You already know that we leave you the links to the applications in the description. See you in the next one. Bye.
