How to Disable Voice to Text Dictation on Your iPhone in iMessage (Full Transcript)

Speaker 1: Let's turn off voice to text on your iPhone. Now, if you're in iMessage and there's that little microphone button where you can switch between voice and text, it'll enable dictation. If you wanted to turn that off, I'm going to show you how to do it. So let's go into iMessage here and you can see at the bottom right, I can tap on that and it will translate my voice into text. So if you don't necessarily want this feature or you don't want that little microphone there, you can always turn that feature off. I'll show you how to do it. Let's hop into settings here and then we'll tap on general and then we'll tap on keyboard. Now at the very bottom here, you can see under dictation, enable dictation is turned on. All I have to do is turn that off and hit turn off dictation and then if I go out of here and then go back into messages, you can see that little microphone is now disappeared and missing on my iPhone. Now I'll just have to type out and type any text that I wanted to type. Keep in mind there is still audio messages if you tap that little AA, you can always just tap that little blue voice button and you can tap and record any kind of audio message, but that voice to text, that dictation will now be turned off.
