Alright, starting off, let me outline in just a few words what this site has been designed for. It is actually quite simple, so according to their homepage, Speechpad offers accurate and affordable transcription services by real people. Not by bots, not by any automated software, by a real human like you and me. And this is where you come in, guys. Because you see, on one hand, transcription services such as this give customers the chance to submit audio or video files that need to be converted into written text. For example, for a price of $1.20 per transcribed audio or video minute, that file gets handed over to one of their freelance transcriptionists, and as a result of that, the transcriber gets to work and converts the given file into written text, if possible within 24 hours, so that the customer doesn't have to wait for weeks to receive his or her transcript. If this statistic here is true, then there have been transcribed, subtitled, and captioned already more than 10,000 audio-slash-video minutes for customers from all over the world by their transcriptionists here on Speechpad. The shortest file that has ever been transcribed on this site was one second long. Now, that must have been a real tough challenge for the transcriber. Currently, they support 27 different languages and dialects, including languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, Filipino, French, and a lot more. Just remember, guys, they don't pay you for the time you spent on transcribing or translating audio or video files. This payment rate refers to every audio or video minute you convert into text or translate. The pay is based on minute of audio or video. Many factors impact the pay per minute, including priority, audio quality, language, etc., etc. We are emphasizing this because we have been asked by a lot of you guys why you didn't get paid for working in hourly shifts. That's not how these transcription or translation services work, guys. They will pay you for delivering work, not for spending time behind a desk or a computer. Now, that would be too easy anyway, don't you agree? You could easily boost your earnings by simply working for a couple of hours on a 5 minutes long audio file and that way earn hundreds of dollars. That's not gonna work, guys. Instead, they will pay you for every minute of audio or video you transcribe, subtitle, or caption for a customer, meaning if you, for example, transcribe an audio file, for instance, an audiobook or podcast of 8 minutes length or a client, you may earn with that even up to 8 minutes multiplied by $2.50, which makes 20 bucks, no matter how long it takes you to complete the transcription task. If you need 2 hours to pull this off, then you earn 20 bucks in 2 hours. If you're a good listener and a fast and accurate typist, you might be able to transcribe such an audio file even within 30, 20, or 15 minutes and earn 20 bucks in 30, 20, or 15 minutes. Simple as that. So at the end of the day, it will mainly depend on your typing and language skills how much you will earn per day with your transcription services. What if you don't consider yourself neither a fast nor an accurate typist, though? Transcribe.me, for example, according to their homepage, they offer some of the best payment rates in the industry, and unlike Speechpad, they are currently accepting new applicants. Earnings start at $15 to $22 per audio hour, so these guys pay you not per audio minute, but per audio hour you transcribe, and if that information here is true, their highest earning members are making even up to $2,200 with their transcription services. The average monthly earnings on this platform are $250, which is decent, not extraordinary much, but decent. Speakwrite, according to their homepage, you may earn even more here than on the previous one, namely $3,400 as one of their highest earning transcriptionists, and on average $450 per month, However, these guys require from applicants to meet certain requirements, like for instance having experience in legal, general, or Spanish transcriptions.
