Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome to the channel. In this video, I will break down for you how to earn money with transcription jobs on Speechpad. So without further ado, let us get started. Alright, starting off, let me outline in just a few words what this site has been designed for. It is actually quite simple, so according to their homepage, Speechpad offers accurate and affordable transcription services by real people. Not by bots, not by any automated software, by a real human like you and me. And this is where you come in, guys. Because you see, on one hand, transcription services such as this give customers the chance to submit audio or video files that need to be converted into written text. For example, for a price of $1.20 per transcribed audio or video minute, that file gets handed over to one of their freelance transcriptionists, and as a result of that, the transcriber gets to work and converts the given file into written text, if possible within 24 hours, so that the customer doesn't have to wait for weeks to receive his or her transcript. If this statistic here is true, then there have been transcribed, subtitled, and captioned already more than 10,000 audio-slash-video minutes for customers from all over the world by their transcriptionists here on Speechpad. The shortest file that has ever been transcribed on this site was one second long. Now, that must have been a real tough challenge for the transcriber. And the longest one, almost 7 hours, probably a movie or the recording of a conference, I'd say. Who knows, you will find also some of the most famous and most influential companies amongst their customers, like Amazon, Netflix, or Yahoo, so I'd say, all in all, these guys make actually a pretty professional impression on me. How much do they pay their transcribers, subtitlers, and captioners for their services? Well, let us find out. According to their homepage, once you have become a member and been approved as a transcriptionist on their site, you might earn rates of $0.25 up to $2.50 per minute as a transcriber, and this is where the real magic begins. Even from $2 up to $5 per minute as a translator, so actually you can expect to earn twice as much as a translator. Pretty cool, I'd say, meaning if you know and speak fluently at least two different languages, like, for instance, English and Hindi, or Arabic and French, you will be given a chance to prove your language skills and turn them into real profit by offering your services as a translator of text, videos, and audio, too. Currently, they support 27 different languages and dialects, including languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, Filipino, French, and a lot more. Just remember, guys, they don't pay you for the time you spent on transcribing or translating audio or video files. This payment rate refers to every audio or video minute you convert into text or translate. The pay is based on minute of audio or video. Many factors impact the pay per minute, including priority, audio quality, language, etc., etc. We are emphasizing this because we have been asked by a lot of you guys why you didn't get paid for working in hourly shifts. That's not how these transcription or translation services work, guys. They will pay you for delivering work, not for spending time behind a desk or a computer. Now, that would be too easy anyway, don't you agree? You could easily boost your earnings by simply working for a couple of hours on a 5 minutes long audio file and that way earn hundreds of dollars. That's not gonna work, guys. Instead, they will pay you for every minute of audio or video you transcribe, subtitle, or caption for a customer, meaning if you, for example, transcribe an audio file, for instance, an audiobook or podcast of 8 minutes length or a client, you may earn with that even up to 8 minutes multiplied by $2.50, which makes 20 bucks, no matter how long it takes you to complete the transcription task. If you need 2 hours to pull this off, then you earn 20 bucks in 2 hours. If you're a good listener and a fast and accurate typist, you might be able to transcribe such an audio file even within 30, 20, or 15 minutes and earn 20 bucks in 30, 20, or 15 minutes. Simple as that. So at the end of the day, it will mainly depend on your typing and language skills how much you will earn per day with your transcription services. What if you don't consider yourself neither a fast nor an accurate typist, though? Well, if you'd like to work on your typing skills a bit, guys, I'd suggest you check out this site here, typingtest.com. This site will allow you to check your typing accuracy and speed completely free of charge. Simply select your test length, its difficulty level, press start, and on the next page type in the text you see displayed as fast and as accurately as possible. Once the timer is counted down to zero, you will be given your test result so that you can either leave this site satisfied with your test outcome and prepared for your upcoming assignments as a transcriptionist or retake your test as often as you like and that will improve your typing speed and accuracy automatically on the way. What are the benefits of working as a freelance transcriptionist for these guys here on Speechpad apart from the payment rates? Well, first and foremost, you will be given the freedom and the flexibility to work when, where, and how much or how little you want. You will become your own boss and set your own work schedule. Also note that there are no minimum required hours to work here on Speechpad. There are no upfront investments to make. If you have a computer and an internet connection, you already have everything you need to start transcribing. You will get paid on time twice a week regardless of how much you earn, which is pretty awesome in my opinion. Most of these platforms pay their contributors once a week or sometimes even once per month. And lastly, you will be given the flexibility and freedom to pick your own jobs. You are free to work on whatever jobs you find interesting, find your niche, or change it up. There you have it guys. Now, sadly, there is one major obstacle. Normally, you are able to join Speechpad by clicking on this Apply Now button and by filling in a short application form on the next page. They reviewed your application and once they decided you're a good fit, they approved your application and you were given instant access to your freshly created account here. That's at least how it had worked till last year. Last time I applied, they were accepting a lot of new transcriptionists. The problem, however, is due to high demand, they decided to currently not accept any new applications, which means for you, you either wait and check back in a few months, because in my honest opinion, Speechpad has some of the most tempting and convincing payment rates and benefits for contributing transcriptionists in the industry, so maybe it is worth waiting, or you give one of the following transcription services a try to pass the time. Transcribe.me, for example, according to their homepage, they offer some of the best payment rates in the industry, and unlike Speechpad, they are currently accepting new applicants. Earnings start at $15 to $22 per audio hour, so these guys pay you not per audio minute, but per audio hour you transcribe, and if that information here is true, their highest earning members are making even up to $2,200 with their transcription services. The average monthly earnings on this platform are $250, which is decent, not extraordinary much, but decent. Speakwrite, according to their homepage, you may earn even more here than on the previous one, namely $3,400 as one of their highest earning transcriptionists, and on average $450 per month, However, these guys require from applicants to meet certain requirements, like for instance having experience in legal, general, or Spanish transcriptions. If you believe you're a good fit for them, go ahead and apply for a job as a remote transcriber or happyscribe.com, join a global community of transcribers from United States, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Canada, Kenya, Philippines, and many more, and get paid $0.90 per audio or video minute you transcribe and enjoy earnings of $450, even up to $300 per month with your transcription services. These guys are currently accepting new applicants too, so if you're interested, go ahead and apply. Remember, the more of these services you sign up on, the more transcription assignments you can expect to be given and earn money with. Well, and that's all for today. If you enjoyed this tutorial, hit the like button and I'll see you guys next time.
