Speaker 1: Hey everyone, Alec here with VEED and in this video I'm going to be talking about automatic audio transcription. So I'm going to show you exactly how to transcribe audio to text fast. Now there's many reasons why you would want to transcribe audio into text. It could be that you want a transcription of a YouTube video to turn into a blog post or it could be that you want to transcribe your podcast so you can create a video from it with subtitles. Well in this video I'm going to be showing you exactly how to do it right now. To transcribe our audio to text we're going to be using an online video editor called VEED and first we're going to cover getting started with VEED, then I'm going to be talking about how to automatically transcribe your audio to text, then I'm going to show you how to edit your text, then I'm going to be showing you how to download your text as a text file or as subtitles and I'm also going to show you how you can turn your text transcription into a video. And with that being said let's get started. So like I mentioned the tool we're going to be using is called VEED so you can either head over to Google and Google VEED, if not the link is going to be in the description down below. So once we're on VEED the first step is to create a new project by clicking on the new project button and then in VEED's video editor here we want to upload the video that we want to transcribe. So we click on upload the files, now we're going to browse through our documents and we're going to find the video that we want to transcribe. So here I have this podcast audio snippet, so I import this. Now obviously for the purpose of this video this is only a few seconds long, however obviously you can import full-length podcasts. Now if you're looking to turn your audio into a video you can choose one of these templates or if not we can start with a blank canvas and we can always change this later anyway. So as you can see my audio is now imported into VEED and if I click play. As you can see we can hear my audio. So to begin transcribing our audio to text automatically it's very simple. We're going to click on the subtitle tab on the left and then we're going to click on the auto subtitle tool and here we're going to select the language that we're talking in within our audio. So in this audio snippet we're speaking English, so I select English and now we're going to click on start and then here VEED is going to take anywhere between a few seconds to a few minutes to automatically transcribe your audio to text. So as you can see it's now finished and our text has appeared in three different places. First of all we have the subtitle editor on the left, then we have the text in the timeline and then we can also see our text on the actual video canvas which we can click and drag to move about. So first of all we're going to listen back and make sure our text is correct. So if I click play. As you can see we have our audio transcription which is great. Now there's only one mistake that I've noticed, it's the very first piece of text. As you can see it says everyone instead of hey everyone but this is because I kind of slur the two words together. So to edit it all I have to do is click on the text bubble right here and then just edit it as if it was normal text anywhere else and then it's the same again for every single closed caption. Now if I'm looking to download these as subtitles to add on to a video I also want to make sure that all the timings for my subtitles are correct. For an example if I click play. As you can see all the subtitles are at the correct times throughout the video but for the first one again I wanted to start a bit sooner so I can either edit it in the subtitle editor right here so I can input the time manually or I can click and drag it straight from within the timeline. If not I place the playhead where I want and I just click on the beginning stopwatch for this subtitle. Now at the end as you can see we have the word started on its own but I want to cut this out and I'm going to paste it on to the previous one and then I'm just going to delete this but I'm going to copy this time right here and delete it and now just paste this time here so it ends when the sentence ends. To download my text transcription I have a few options so first I'm going to go into the options tab on the right and as we can see if we go down we have download subtitles and here we can choose a format that we want to download them as. Now if we're looking to just download a normal text transcription I can just select the .txt format and then if I click here it will download a text file with all my text in it. Now if I want to download them as closed captions for example for a YouTube video if I'm posting my podcast to YouTube I can then download them as a SubRip subtitle file and if I just click here again as you can see it begins to download and I have my SRT file but let's say I want to turn my transcription into a video just like the one we have here so this is a square video and if I click play. I'm your host Alec and as you can see we have a video with our text showing on the screen at the same time the words being said. Now I can change a lot of this for an example if I wanted to change the background color I could change it to pink, I can also go into the style tab right here and I can change the font, I can change the layout, I can change the letter spacing, I can change the line height and then I can also choose from a bunch of different presets right here and then once I want to actually download this as a video all I have to do is click on export in the top right. V then starts to render my audio transcription as a video and then once it's finished rendering as you can see we can preview it right here as a video and then I can go ahead and download it as a video. And that is automatic audio transcription and how to transcribe audio to text fast.
