Speaker 1: Hello and welcome back to another video. I'm James and in this video I'm going to show you how to transcribe audio to text for your podcast using a tool called Welder which is a tool to record your high quality podcast remotely. First you'll need to go to getwelder.com podcast transcript. From this page click the upload and transcript your file for free button and this will take you to our transcript tool. From here you can drag and drop any podcast recording with video as well or browse the file from your computer. Then wait a few minutes for Welder to work its magic and it will create a full accurate transcript for you. Once you've got your transcript you can export it in either a timestamped .srt file which will be really useful for uploading a video or just the text file which you can edit and upload to your podcast host or website. And that's how you can generate a podcast transcript for free but what if you want to have a transcript for your podcast as soon as you stop recording? Maybe your show is raw and authentic without any editing? Maybe you want to reference some things in your editing later? Let me quickly show you how to do that. Head to your Welder dashboard, create a session, join and start recording. You can then go about your recording as you normally would. Throughout this recording you can add timestamps by pressing the spacebar or pressing the tag button. I found this really useful when I'm recording my show as there are certain points I want to reference while I'm editing. Maybe I want to remove that section that we just recorded out or even make a clip for social media and I want to make sure I remember where that was in the recording. Once you've finished hit the stop recording button and wait for your files to upload. Welder records your files in super high quality by capturing the local audio and video files which avoids any internet dropouts or speed issues and then uploads it throughout the recording. Now you can head back to your dashboard and go to the recording section. Click get transcription and you'll see your accurate transcription of the recording that you've just done. Just like before you can export the transcript as an SRT or text file for use later or you can search through it if you want to find those timestamps. So now you've got your transcript you might be thinking how exactly can you use it and what benefits does it have? Firstly you can take the full transcript from your episode and upload it to your podcast host or put it in your show notes. This will give great SEO benefits and make your show super searchable. It also makes your podcast more accessible for those who can't listen to podcasts. If you're publishing the video of your show or certain clips you can upload the .srt file which will add subtitles to your video. This again is super useful for accessibility and for people that watch the video with no sound. Finally you can take the clips of your episode with video and use V to edit them into branded content to share on social media which includes subtitles. As most of the time people are watching social media video with no sound. There's a tutorial in the top right of this video if you want to learn exactly how to do that. Thank you very much for watching this video on how to transcribe audio to text for your podcast.
